I have a 2006 Yamaha RS vector Gt and has 10074 miles on it and I blew the stock stator last year when the sled had 8000 miles and got an after market one from sun and snow and blew it in 2000 miles so I am wondering if there is a fix for it or do I keep putting money into it and just put a new stator????!!!!!!

Others will chime in but I think you can expect the consensus to be go OEM. Nice looking sled.

X3 on OEM. Those early years could have used more cooling capacity which I think is the root cause of failure IMHO.

Ok I’ll think on that I had a hole in one of my coolers and was over heating a lot the running board hey exchangers and the one in the tunnel aren’t enough I was thinking a small radiator with an electric fan in the nose come what are your thoughts on that????X3 on OEM. Yep, I've read a lot of threads where the aftermarket ones failed for no apparent reason. Also, my theory for what can cause a stater to fail is a weak battery because the stater and charging system attempts to bring the battery to full charge and can't
Maybe I'm just lucky but I have 39,000 KM on an original 06 stater with no issues (so far). I change the battery every few years and use a Optimate battery tender
Cheers

Another vote for oem, just had to replace a RMstator that only made it 2 rides in my Viper.
