I bought a taller windshield for my 2014 viper XTX. It has lower mounting tabs that would hit the sled 6" further ahead then on the current low windshield. is this right or did they change the windshield contact points in the newer models? It is a Yamaha windshield.

I took the whole cowling into the dealer with the new shield partially mounted and let them play with it. In the end, I'm returning that shield and ordering the old style that mounts further back like the short should.

If the tab to attach it was there, the shield would be held out about a quarter inch with a strange twist in it.
They sold you the wrong windshield. Those are for the new Viper or Winder hoods.

I had posed that question to the dealer. I found yamaha shields online that were listed as 2014 only, not 2014-2018 like this one is supposed to be.They sold you the wrong windshield. Those are for the new Viper or Winder hoods.
