Hey guys:
Does anyone know what the track tension is supposed to be set at for a 2003 RX1 shortie? Which portion of the track do they want you to measure with the fish scale?
Mine is really tight with the sled in the air.....can't even turn the track with your hands....it is so tight at the front!
I do not have a manual.

it is .98 inches -1.18@22lbs
It says to check it the center of the track . I did mine and did both sides since I could not pull from the middle

Just think *one inch*. Forget the 22 pounds thing, raise the back end, stick your arm into the underside and push down. If it goes down *about* an inch, its good. If it is obviously more, then its too loose, if it feels really tight, it is.

mierda,
Didn't you get an owners manual with the machine? You can order one from your dealer if you didn't get one.

I think Yamis spec is too tight. I use 1 to 1 1/2" free hang with no weight and have never had any problems. The track spins much more freely. The stock skid actually tightens up the track slightly on compression and causes it to bind and break things if too tight.

I use a 1" hang for the right setting and I only have wear below the front two wheels.
I now have 3800 miles on the original hyfax and I should get at least 4000 miles more. I do not have the track studded, so if you have a studded track you will have to check out what works with getting the track as loose as what works without damage
You should also be aware that the track will stretch when new.

The suspension only tightens the track when the front of the rail compresses. If the track is snug the suspension won't compress all the way. The oposite happens when the rear compresses and not the front, it gets real loose.
