After researching on here I decided to get this larger battery. It fits perfect in the tray but the plastic cover is extremely tight. I removed the foam. Would I be safe to run it without the cover as long as I secure it somehow? Thanks in advance.

I wouldn't run it without the cover. Too big of a risk hitting a bump at 80 mph and the positive terminal rocking over to the battery tray and arching. Will it happen? Probably not but why take the chance.

I was able to get it on there. My main concern was the cables chafing on the bottom edge of the cover but I'm probably just worrying too much. I'm sure it will be fine...
