I used this battery last year in my 04 warrior without any issues... cranks almost as fast as the large stock battery... SO i figured id use it in my new APEX GT!!

Follow the instructions below!

#1 Remove hood!

#2 remove windsheild and headlight assembly!

#3 Loosen 4 clamps connecting the airbox to the throttle bodys and remove the airbox and disconnect the 3 hoses and IAT sensor!

#4 Remove battery cover and disconnect battery connectors and remove battery!

#5 Add enough foam to the top of the new battery to make for shorter hieght of battery (this is to prevent bouncing around!)

#6 reinstall battery-airbox-headlight assembly and hood!!

Here is a link to the battery im using... YOu could also get one at a Battery center..for a 2000 CBR 600!

From what i can tell (i did not weight it) there is atleast a 2-4 pound difference between the batterys..

Enjoy... Brian :D

looks nice, but I'll stick with the original. They test em in the cold. My 03 RX-1 always started even in -35f.

Too each his own... I didnt say you had to change your battery...

This info is only intended for those who want to lighten there sled without giving up valuable cold cranking amps...

Ive used this same battery for the last two seasons with no problems.. it works in the cold just like the OE batt does... it just wont crank as long.. but with the Fuel injecton on the new sleds you dont need to crank that long now do you!

;)!

I appreciate the hard work and effort to save the weight but have to laugh at myself for even considering doing this as, I would probably screw it all up and then have to admit at my wt ( 270) I could get the same wt saving from a good dump :( .

Absolutely no insult intended, I know in tight competition power to wt is key.

welterracer - Thanks for the info. I'm in the works of shaving some weight on my '03 RX-1 and that battery will make a difference. My old battery weights in at 11.1 lbs. Advantages had when reducing weight is faster acceleration but also improved handling.

Your welcome!

Its allot smaller than the apex battery, which is even smaller than the RX-1 battery..

Ive had my battery for 2 full years.. and its still running strong.. well worth the $50
