ZX2 hyfax - how to check wear

Anybody have time and a new chunk of hyfax and could take a side measurement of how much hyfax there should be? I have over 1500 miles on my skid but the black on black I cannot see how much is left and can just measure the side if I have to. I dont see a line on it like other hyfax, but in the back where you can see the end of the hyfax it still looks like there is 1/4" thick.

How do you guys see how much wear you have and how much is left? Thanks!

Ok so you take a open end 11mm wrench and check the height from the bottom of the slide to the top of the side which is on top of the rail and if it fits your in trouble. What size fits when they are brand new?

I would use a 12mm to check. Just put it up to the side of the rail and if you can slip the 12mm wrench over the hyfax it is time to change. I am not sure what size they are new.

Thanks that is a awesome way to check, I'm going to set my Dad up with a process to check his like this, very easy and you know the exact wear.

Well I got over 3mm left. Looks like new they are 18mm thick, and right now I could barely get a 15mm wrench over them in most spots, ironiclly right under the wheels was the worst wear and I got a 14mm over that.

Summary new ZX2 hyfax is 18mm thick on side, 11mm is over due for replacement.

FYI I have 1800 miles on my skid with another year left on the hyfax
