Well I only have 400 miles on the revalve from this last trip so take it for what its worth. I'm not totally happy with the revalve. I bottomed out at least 3-4 times and the stutter bump performance is better but not much better then stock ADB settings on the shocks. The trails were whooped out junk so they were rough but with low snow they were not THAT large. Big G outs its bottoms everytime it never used to even get close. I'm back to quenching on a big bump again waiting for it to bottom.
I'll call Hygear and see what they say.

It was spendy I want to say $400ish I cant remember.
I called and talked to a tech today and they offer free revalve till they get it right so that is nice. I didn't know that originally. So back in they go and we'll see what they come up with.
They are going to add more high speed rebound and take away some slow speed rebound.
They also talked about removing the mechanism in the shock all together that is supposed to resist bottoming but I wasn't real interested in that.
If that doesn't work then I will go back to how ADB had it it was a blast to ride the rough with that set up but stutter bumps would rattle your teeth.
More to come...

I hope they are saving your setup for future reference. I have yet to try my ZX2 out, but if I decide its too rough in the studders, it would be nice to have the trail and error done!

Yeah I was hoping Guardrail was going to eliminate the trial and error for me from this this thread:
http://www.ty4stroke.com/viewtopic.php? ... c&start=15
Just goes to show no two butts are a like what is good to one is not to another.
They do save everything and when I sent mine in I said copy Guardrails but they may have adjusted for my weight I'm a little lighter.
Oh well at least they are easy to work with and I'll try one more combo before I go back to stock ADB settings.

I sent them back to hygear after I did another 350 miles on them so 750 total. The last 350 they weren't as disappointing but they still lacked good stutter performance and I bottomed out 1 time in the last 350 miles trip where I know it wouldn't have. I was riding like it was a mono though and bracing for impact so I'm sure I saved a bunch more bottoming.
Usually when we have new people to our group they always want to ride the SC beast and I'm perfectly fine with that and he brought a 800 ski doo XP renegade about a 09 model, I rode that for awhile when we swapped, MAN THAT THING RIDES AWESOME it was so much softer and smoother over the stutter bumps, way better then mine on all fronts and this guy is not a tinkerer it was bone stock with the suspension settings probably how they came out of the crate. That will be my benchmark to get to with the apex. The Ohlins on the front are great but still aren't as good as those ski doo in terms of performance, so I have some tweaking to do there just playing with the compression and rebound.
Hygear has been great I will try out the new combo next year.

Let us know how it turns out. I know you said Hygear offers a free revalving once they have worked on the shocks, but I am curious if they charge you for an oil change or some type of charge?

Yeah I think they mentioned something about oil charge, I'm sure I'll get some bill for doing it. I'll let you know.

Well I got the shocks back and installed and took my first ride out. MUCH better, I could not get it to bottom out even with some fairly large jumps and some intentional G bumps. Keep in mind I went to 151 as well on a 13.5" trail track but she rocked it! Very nice in stutter bumps and not at all jarring. I'm not sure if its the shocks or the 151 smoothing things out though. I must say I am impressed with the skid as it sits just not sure if it applies to you guys with 121's.
The skid is nearing 100% perfect for me. Good in stutters and I seriously cant bottom it out. Everything felt soft but well managed. When you go to 151 the manual is very clear on the the limit strap being on the tightest setting and it seemed to be perfect I get about 2-3" of ski lift on take off on hard pack vs before I could get a 12-18".
The Hygear 'free' revalve ended up costing me about $141 as they always seem to find seals, oil, etc that need to be replaced or 'should' be replaced. In total I have $350 into the revalve including the first one. I am very happy but not sure if its $350 happy. I will report again once I hit some stutter bumps on a long railroad grade then I'll know. I'm just glad to have the bottoming resistance back!

Got another 400 miles on the skid in real trail conditions and yes its very much improved from stock on the stutter bumps. Still no plush caddy but compared to a mono its very very close as I got to ride one side by side mine. He vector felt softer I think just because of the seat it seemed the rear ends were bouncing the same over the same bumps.
I couldn't get it to bottom out and I tried, its back to riding this thing like I stole it again! In the end I dont know if the improvement was worth the money but I am happy its better I will jsut get them rebuilt every other year now but no need for any more revalves. Again no caddy but very tolerable and if you get in the moguals my my this skid is a hoot to ride. I almost look for rough trails now it just smooths them out and away you go!
