When I bought my 04 Warrior the battery was dead and had to be jump started. The speedo and the tach went wacky. Speeds at sit still and the tach would sweep all around while riding. I had a new battery put in before I bought the sled and that fixed it right up.

What light is blinking and what sled do you have. Im sure you know there will be an on off flash until the sled warms up after it is started. It might go on for a few minutes depending on how cold it is.

Sked Dog, Thanks Ill check it and add a little. I wouldn't think that it makes that much of a difference but I dont know Im sure someone on here has done the math on that. I had 4 quarts of oil and had a very little amount left so that will probably even it out.

I dont know how much oil the filter holds but I don't see the point in being obsesive about an oil change if your going to leave a filter full of dirty oil to mix in with the clean stuff you just put in. I'm not a mechanic by no means thats just my common sence point of view.

Sounds like Ill just get a good 5w30 and the Yamaha filter. I looked in the online service manual that someone emailed me and could not find the engine oil capacity. How much will she hold.

I bought mine last spring (05) its a bone stock 04 Warrior and it had under 500 miles on it for $4500.00 US. It only had one trip to the UP on it when I got it. Its had a couple trips on it now.

When I bought my warrior the battery in it was completely dead and I could jump start it and it would run but hte gauges would flicker and flash and go hey wire like you described. Hopefully thats just the problem.

Ive seen people try this on a filter that is real tight the screw driver will rip the filter and then you are screwed. I dont think I would do this unless it was an absolute emergency.

If your like me I dont like the external bags. I might opt for the windshield bag, but there was a guy on here that had a thread about making a bag that goes under the tool box. It would be a hassle to get to but I would rather have that then the look of the saddle bags etc. JMO
