I recently purchased a RX1 and was disappointed with the lack of storage on this sled. What did you guys find as the best way to increase storage area? Windshield bag, backpack, saddle bags, what are people using, and where did you get them?

the trunk bag is my favorite. You can see it on the back of my sled in this photo.

I have a 05 and use GEARS saddle bags and bar bag with one season on them they work very good, don't forget to inner bag... and protect your muffler covers.

If your like me I dont like the external bags. I might opt for the windshield bag, but there was a guy on here that had a thread about making a bag that goes under the tool box. It would be a hassle to get to but I would rather have that then the look of the saddle bags etc. JMO

I have a Yamaha bag that fits over the back of the seat. On my LCD screen, I can not see the above PIC very well (too dark?). From What I can see, the one is the PIC does NOT look like mine. Mine fits snugly down on the pipe covers and has three compartments. It was made for the Rx-1. I have about 4000 miles on it without any problems and it is really nice & roomy. I go out for 3-4 days at a time, and it holds all the clouthes & supplies I need, plus a Rosco & phone. It is also, very stable on the sled and stays that way all day. On a trip, I love it.

G reat idea I need extra foam in 05 rx , especially in the back to sloap to the front, I get sore tail bone at the end of ride because you sit to far down and back on the stock seat. so a little forward would be nice.

I use the Yami tank bag. It has a permanent part that hangs over the tank with pockets on each side as well as a removable portion that resembles a typical tank bag. I just have to put the removable part on upside down to be able to ride rider forward style.

I also have the combination luggage for saddle bag trips. They are a bit small, but after you get used to traveling lite, they are ok. It's nice not to have a lot of mass getting in the way on the back when you are riding hard.
