Well I got it and that was probably the most frustrating thing I've ever had to do in recent years. I don't know what I was doing wrong but after 2hrs of taking it off and on I'm done.
Yep I did finger tight, I'll try backing it off before I remove the cover again tonight. I did lift the linkage rod as I put the case back on (I removed the top linkage when taking the cover off so I had to lift it back up to that height to reinstall the cover because I couldn't lift it afterward).
Well I opened my chaincase and cleaned everything as well as re packed/replaced some bearings but now the sled won't go into reverse? I suspect it's the lever inside but just curious how to put the cover back on correctly so it's in the proper position. I didn't touch the linkage adjustment.
Got my Sled Toyz copper exhaust donuts installed lastnight. Thanks for the excellent service! FYI a regular 10mm head bolt fits just fine, even had room for a washer.
Well I've already got the copper donuts coming and read about taking some material off the spacers so they clamp tighter. Trying to not go to the dealer of possible.
It's with the sled lifted, if you loosen off the preload too much your spring won't be held in place when there's no load on the front end. Mine looks the same.
I had low mileage and didn't have the replacemnt parts. Just wanted to add a little piece of mind that they weren't going to seize on me. If they had any indication of being worn or rusted then %100 they would have been changed.
They are sealed bearings and no the manual doesn't show anything about regreasing them. I just did mine and the jack shaft bearing had very little grease left in it at 3,000km. Just be careful not to rip the seal and it'll go back together just fine. I'm going to replace them next year anyway...
I've read the suspension setup and I have my 09 xtx fairly close I think. I'm not getting great traction and can't really get the skis to lift on hard acceleration. I've got the transfer rods set to the longest setting and my front strap one hole from full length. My next step was to put the...
Rode it!! First time on a sled since I was 14. Wholly shirt these things rip! (09 xtx). Defiantly need to work on the setup but had a blast either way!
It's almost pure alcohol, it won't hurt the paint at all. Just make sure you use a clean soft rag. Anytime there's glue residue on anything this stuff works. I used to detail cars/transport trucks and used this to remove the glue after the truck changed companies and had to be re-lettered.
