    Fox Float Roost Damage

Shock covers....worth every penny. Cheap on ebay. Never had an issue and have run them on multiple sleds.

Personal Observation. Apex gutted vs. aftermarket exhaust.

Bulbs to run = http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/White-Xe ... ccessories 130/90 watt H4 6000k bulbs. Any higher than 6000K, and you'll be into the blue light spectrum and it distorts your vision (signs especially). 6000K is ultra white. My friends love riding ahead of me b/c my lights are...

Personal Observation. Apex gutted vs. aftermarket exhaust.

I haven't dyno'd my sled, so I wouldn't know. I also didn't calculate the MPG change, but I'm sure it helped a bit, but probably negligible. I think I typically average about 15mpg or so with mixed throttle riding. Not racing. I also have a great airbox mod. You cut open the bottom front of the...

Personal Observation. Apex gutted vs. aftermarket exhaust.

I get lots of compliments on it. There is a guide on here somewhere, but you'll have to search for it. You remove the seat and the exhaust shield. I then used a sawzall to cut open the top/rear of the muffler in a "U" shape. You then bend the flap up towards the front of the sled and I then cut...

Personal Observation. Apex gutted vs. aftermarket exhaust.

Just wanted to let you guys know that I was out riding a couple weekends ago and heard another apex with an aftermarket exhaust. It sounded horrible and high pitched. Mine is fully gutted and his riding partner's apex also sounded gutted. The gutted exhausts sound much better. The...

    Apex fuel mileage

I call B.S. unless he was in deep snow. I get great MPG's on my '06 RTX. I'd say I average 15mpg with mixed throttle riding on trails. I have run with lots of older 2 stroke sleds and always use less than them....even a '90 Polaris Indy 500 and used less gas than it...we filled up an he used...

    Best Gloves

My problem isn't the bars....they get super hot...it's my poor circulation in my fingertips...I can make the bars hotter than I can hold onto, even with my gloves and cold windchill.

    Best Gloves

I have tried multiple gloves and my hands get cold with all of them, even with the '06 bars with '07 harness. It's my fingertips, not my entire hands. I can burn my palms with that heater setup, but the finger tips still freeze from the wind. I have an RTX with the low windshield. I put on a...

    Hyfax shot after 500 miles

Same here...wear to the line and then stop wearing... check them again and keep a close eye on them to see if they keep wearing further.

need speed help...f7 keeps kickin my butt

I've owned both....My '03 F7 Had everything done to it you could except NOS, twins, or a big bore kit. It was crazy fast, but I like my Apex better as an all around daily driver. Stock for stock, the F7 will typically be faster. The F7 was built to win...the Apex wasn't. It was built to be a...

Lookin for a good sounding Muffler for 07 Apex GT

Another thumbs up for gutted. No problems. There are instructions on here with pictures somewhere if you search for them. I followed them and it was pretty easy. I cut out all cross pipes in the muffler and welded it back shut. Not too loud at idle or when going through town. No problems with...

Apex track questions. Thanks ahead of time!

I asked him. Thanks for the suggestion. Looks like the best bang for the buck. I'm also going to send in my shock for a re-valve and get the big boy spring. I think that will do it for this year for mods. Next year will be 23 tooth top gear and clutch kit. It should be pretty much done, then.

Apex track questions. Thanks ahead of time!

I know RIPSAWS are the stock track. I want to know what you think of the studs in the auction pictures of that specific track for sale. I want to know if there's enough penetration, or if the studs are too short. Thanks LJ 452.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/CAMOPLAS ... ccessories What are your thoughts on the studs on this track? Looks like not enough penetration to me.

Apex track questions. Thanks ahead of time!

Great catch. I looked and it looks like it is a single ply track. That would make sense. At this point, I think I should sell my track to my father and I should get something better. I was recommended a sno-pro track. It is supposed to be more durable than the cobra. That is 1.375" and the...

Apex track questions. Thanks ahead of time!

Great idea about the anti-rub weld job. I do remember reading about that. I didn't know I wasn't supposed to stud my ice ripper! Anybody know why not?

Apex track questions. Thanks ahead of time!

I'm thinking the anti-rub is a good investment. Thanks for the advice. I do remember seeing it before at Ulmer's site, but forgot about it since last year. I'm also planning on sending in my shock to pioneerperformance.com to get it re-valved and get the big boy spring. The shock is fine now...

Apex track questions. Thanks ahead of time!

I don't remember reading about a hacksaw, but yes, that's only available as a 1", otherwise it would be called a ripsaw, right? I had a hacksaw on my F7. No problems at all with it.

Apex track questions. Thanks ahead of time!

I was actually looking for a 136" Attak, but none available at a good price when we bought our sleds. Since we're on a budget, we're not going to be extending the rails and buying longer tracks, but good advice nonetheless. I'll check out predators and studs for them. Keep the advice coming if...

Apex track questions. Thanks ahead of time!

My dad and I each have an '06 Apex. His is the ER and mine is the RTX. We each need some track work. He has a ripsaw that has many broken off lugs. I have an ice ripper that is in good shape, but missing one lug. It was that way when I bought the sled used and has been perfectly fine. All of the...
