What I don't understand is when it says 3.9 litres total amount when it is 3.0 litres for a periodic change (which I assume means no new filter) or 3.2 litres with oil filter cartridge replacement.
When I change my oil with a filter change I add 3.2 litres and it is on the full mark on the...
Did a ride across alot of trails that crossed wide open trails this last weekend. Hit 107 on the speedo (best speed yet), and it seemed to have more, just coming up to the end of the field so had to let off. Sled is stock. There were 700's and 800's with me that couldn't keep up!
I started out on what turned out to be a 325 mile ride this weekend. My slides were at the wear line when I started. I was going to put new ones on, but my dealer only had one! Anyway, I rode the whole 325 miles and it never went past the wear line. Which is hard to believe since we rode on some...
Thanks.
I think I will buy a new mounting bracket for my handguard and then get a pair of Skinz for cold riding days. I was wondering if they might be a little restrictive by the way they are attached to the end of the bars.
I tipped by sled on it's side a couple of weeks ago and broke one of the handguard brackets. I'm thinking about getting a pair of the Skinz Heat Loc Pro Series Hand Guards for $44 instead of buying a new bracket for $22. Just wondering who has used them and what they think about them. Are they...
This weekend I tipped my Nytro on its right side (throttle side) while making a sharp turn on hard packed snow. It was probably on its side for less than 30 seconds. Is there anything I should be worried about. I didn't take the side panels off to see if there was any oil leaking out, but it sat...
It's not the green one. It's the 3rd one back from the front on the set of relays towards the front of the sled. There is something in the FAQ section that shows the location. It is is a spot that is really hard to get at.
Code 43 twice this weekend. It got down to -26F the first night. Relays were covered with snow. Warmed up with a hair dryer and then the code went away and the sled started. Frustrating and kind of scary. I don't carry a hair drying with me on the trails.
Had the same issue with mine this weekend 2 mornings. The relays are covered with snow after riding in powder for 2 days. Used a hair dryer on the relay for a minute or so. Poor design by Yamaha in my opinion (putting the relays up front where they can get covered by snow).
Very frustrating!
Slydog quit selling just the rubbers. You now have to buy they complete mount kit which includes the rubbers, mounting bolts, bushings, etc.
I bought these and used the rubbers and new bushings. The kit cost $34.
The rubbers do fit rite in but I ended up cutting out the plastic tabs that...
I just put about 550 miles on my XTX after installing Pilot 6.9's. I would say they made a big improvement over the stock skis as far as handling and darting. I am not very impressed with them in deep powder or losse snow though. They do help "float" the front of the sled, but they do not steer...
Thanks for all of the comments. I might have to try removing the tunnel protectors and possibly the block off plate. Don't you really think Yamaha should come up for a fix for this? The XTX is made to ride in powder so it shouldn't be doing this. It's also a safety hazard having my tail light...
I know this has been discussed before, but I have never experienced this bad of ice build up. I was riding in LOTS of powder this weekend and breaking lots of trail and this is what I discovered this morning. There must have been 20 lbs of ice under my tunnel. So what is the best option to...
removing the slides
Thanks for the advice about removing the slides using the reverse method. It still suck, but much better than using a hammer and chisel for the entire length. Theres got to be a better way!
chaincase bolts
Are these the two bolts you are referring to?
They don't mention having to remove these in the service manual.
Is there a hassle with putting them back in when replacing the cover?
I am trying to remove the chaincase cover from my '09 Nytro so that I can replace the lower gear bolt that alot of people have had problems with.
I have everthing off (brakes, spacer on the shaft and all of the bolts) and I can't get the cover to come loose. I don't want to break anything, so...
Well, I just got done doing a 600 mile weekend on my '09 XTX on some pretty good and some really bad riding conditions (to be expected at this time of the year). I put 1800 miles on my sled this year, but this weekend was the first one where I really got to put it to the test since I was riding...
