He has been stalking me on the forums posing as my brother who is reponsible for getting me into this hobby. :die
Replaced all of the wheels in the center(6?). No part number as they were made up by my dealer. Some aluminum spacer machining required for these wheels as they have wider removeable bearings. The +5mm dia. seems to hold the track away from the hyfax better and reduces/eliminates the heavy wear...
Hondo/Others
I have the same machine as your but with much lower mileage (<2000 miles) I want to fix/replace/reinforce the pivot arm before it fails.
My idea is this:
1) Remove the pivot arm.
2) Sandblast to strip.
3) Tigweld over old welds to re-fuse any cracks or bad welds.
4) Tigweld...
All,
If it is any consolation to those who still have bad track noise:
Hondo, myself and Alain (All 3 05 RS Ventures) all had bad track noise after our first set of sliders wore down. When the sliders were replaced the track noise was significantly reduced. The oversized wheels that all 3 of...
Heard a rumour (maybe on here) that there is a beefed up replacement part for the weak '05 RS Venture W bracket. Is this true?
If so, does anyone have the part number?
Thanks
OK here is the skinny on my wheels.
My dealer tells me that these are made, by him, from other components and cannot be bought in the combination provided.
I don't know if this is a sales ploy or not but I would tend to doubt it as they are good folk.
These are 5mm oversize rubberized...
Sorry, but I checked my reciept for the wheels and it does not give a part number. I think I remember my dealer mentioning Polais wheels but I am not sure. They cost me $145 for the 4 of them. I have had no delaminating of the rubber and they have removeable bearings-Overall seem to be a fine...
As we all did, I had massive track howl at the end of last year after my hyfax wore down. (1056 miles)
During the off season, I replaced the hyfax and also installed 5mm oversize rubberized wheels. (Not Yamaha ones...will get part number later)
I just got back from a 5 day trip to Maine.
I...
I have been a long time fan of Yamaha products and quality.
Last year I bought an '05 RS Venture on preorder.
I thought that this sled would be a no-problem 4-stroke wonder.
I am sure I speak for many of us on this board when I state that this is the reality of the situation:
1) T.O.R.S...
No need to apoligize hondo....great post!
I took the same tact as you did only I got my lame torsion springs changed for the heavier 3000nm at their expense.
Yamaha1,
I installed two of these in my RS Venture this year.
We have essentially the same engine setup so I would guess it would be the same for you.
Before you order, get the hose ID so you get the right size barb on the shutoff.
The pictured one is from the Dennis Kirk catalogue and are...
