Epic fail! The 07 swing arm has a tab width that is tighter than the 08.I assembled the thing with the new 08 i have.I assume the beefed 07 is worthless to everyone since they have jumped to 08 and later design to accomodate the aluminum boomerang.Ill chop the tabs off and widen them later.I was...
Going against conventional wisdom is a real bitch.
If you add the low snow wheels you are paying money to destroy your rails. It creates a localized impact point in an extremely weak part of the rail.In fact its somewhat wise to remove the existing outside wheels(removing another localized...
If you do nothing else, please remove the throttle cable and soak in alcohol, then oil.You will find the throttle sticking with ice the next time it gets cold. This is potentially deadly.
I think i went too far.The additional bracing probobly already would have moved the breakage to the lower tabs.Oh well! Anybody who snocross' have any pics of whats next in line?Might as well catch it now that the welders out!
Ive changed my opinion of why this peice broke.I don't think it had anything to do with the hard hit. After eyeballing this suspension i realized it is heavily protected against a bottom out. This peice would lift a house in tension or compression. It would probobly shear the mounting bolts off...
I havn't sunk a four stroke sled yet.If you didn't bend the rods youll never know anything happened! The seat will never drain.Ever.Alcohol removes water from electronics.Buy it by the gallon. Its also cheap at Wmart in the healthcare section(rubbing alcohol(highest percentage you can find))You...
Your right! My bad. Not parting.Thats a 07 skid i just picked up.It will donate a rail, cross shafts and two wheels to my hammered o8 skid.I will weld the 07 swing arm thingy up hopefully better than the new updated one in the picture.Sorry if i came across as negative. Most people thing im an...
FYI Nobody is gonna look at your topic with the negative label you put on it.
you did
not really sure the point of this? just to say your phazer broke after driving the sh!t out of it and its a pos?
yes except pos,proving the opposite(reread)
I must say that the Phazer is by far the...
Its called sarcasm you nellys! This sled has partied! You may end up buying peices of this sled. The motor is going in an experimental aircraft someday(dream).Heres my update to the unupdated held next to an updated one(made sense in my head).I can only do this on the top.The bottom will have to be...
2600 way too harsh miles.I freaked after i bought this sled and looked on this site.I was sure i bought the worst pos in the world.Ive wiped a-arms and a bulkhead off this poor thing to no fault of yamaha. Its not nearly as sturdy as some of the old school sleds but it has held up admirably...
For the situation ive been in lately it sounds like the clear one side, tip, pack, rock to other side, repeat, clear front method would work best!I know to pack the front.Patience is something ill need pills for.Gotta work on that!I also need to strip right up front before i combust.Ive gotten...
Yes!Ive gotten a pretty good feel for when im about to be doomed.Ive stopped clamping the throttle and digging the track to infinity. That has helped tremendously!Im exercising my mangina as often as possible! This thing has to weigh an extra 75 pounds in the rear after a good beat session.When...
Literally cant lift the rear end.Full of wet snow!Where could i stash a shovel?Im not afraid to rivet brackets to my tunnel or whatever.I suppose i could dig a long trench in front of the sled creating a ramp to drive out of.Was hoping there were some soft explosives to launch the sled to a new...
Ive been stuck so many times in the last week! I sometimes ride alone. If any of the stucks were by myself i would have been in deep trouble.Any tricks or advice on how to unstick one of these alone. Its usually pogosticked vertically and i simply cant lift the snow filled back end.I can't even...
I have done extensive damage to my phazer whilst ditch pounding it. I also love to skip copious amounts of water. I have a sno pro. If i had to choose,i would keep the pro, although i don't have experience with that particular year. I have never had the balls to truely skip any large amounts of...
Last year i had the fuel pump relay problem. I switched out the relay, but encountered no more cold weather to verify that it was fixed. Yesterday it wouldn't cycle at approximately 0deg. It was more like -10 before it wouldn't work last year! I am wondering if its actually what feeds the relay...
I finally got to put some miles on the new phazer. I read all the issues i could find out about, and adressed everything i could. this was to be a 600 mile trip. At 390 my friends ski doo lost a suspension bolt. while checking underneath mine for a bolt to rob i quickly discovered my day was also...
This sled came from joe duncan. He was completely straight forward about its history. I am not scared. Great guy to deal with! Was able to pay cash. Someone else tore the cherry off this one,but at least im not paying for a virgin ill turn into a whore! If you financed your 07,or 08 you owe way...
I used a parts unlimited 7" wheel for some other yamaha application. The bearings throughout the sled were greaseable with a needle, except the 30mm idler bearings (large seal step) so i had to pry the seals out. The pic shows the original bearing in the new pocket. No bearings with 30mm id and...
I shoulda included that! Bearing is 6006 rd. Its also possible to get a custom bearing with 30mm id, and whatever od comes with a standard 7"wheel. Whats the bearing od on the aforementioned wheels. If its not way off of 55mm its a possibility.Machining costs me nothing though!
