    Tricking stock ECU

Anyone have any ideas? I am willing to try some different things. I chose the 1.6 ohm resistor since that is within the range of the primary resistance of the stock coils (1.19-1.61 ohms @ 68F). I imagine others are running a standalone with the stock tach. If anyone has any insight I...

    Tricking stock ECU

I have an '07 Apex Mountain with an Impulse turbo. :sled1: It has the standalone ECU, but I am using the stock tachometer. Since it is the standalone, the stock ECU is not connected to the coils, so I am getting codes 33, 34, 35, and 36 on the tach. I am wanting to eliminate these codes. I have...

adjustable fuel pressure regulator on apex

I bought an 1/8" npt 90 at Napa, and an 1/8" npt to 5/16" hose barb at a hardware store. Both pieces are brass. Napa usually has them, or can get them pretty quickly. I tried another stock fuel pressure regulator and it was the same, 45 psi pumps running, engine off and 42 with the engine...

adjustable fuel pressure regulator on apex

No problem. Took me a while to find the dimensions of the car adapters. I just happened upon it looking at regulators on-line. With my secondary fuel pump, the stock regulator was unable to keep the pressure below 42 psi at idle. When hooked to the stock fuel pump it would hold 40 psi fuel...

adjustable fuel pressure regulator on apex

Several aftermarket fuel rail adapters for Nissan/Subaru/Mazda cars will fit the stock Apex fuel rail. I just recently put one on my sled. It is a Tomei adapter purchased from http://www.rallysportdirect.com/Tomei-1 ... or-Adapter I bought this one because they are local to me. You need...

    standalone fuel system

What sled are you talking about? Which standalone are you referring to? A little more information about what you have or are looking into will give you more/better responses.

    Float pressure without sway bar

I should also say that I installed Simmons Gen II skis and an Impulse turbo last year. I have the Timbersled skid (updated older model, not the current model) setup per their recommendation for 15 psi boost. The skid seems to give good control with a minimal amount of ski lift during climbing...

    Float pressure without sway bar

I actually just purchased Fett Brothers air canisters which I will be installing. I figure I will start with 95 psi and adjust from there. They should make the sled softer overall, without changing on trail manners too much. I have also seen where people recommend 50 psi with the swaybar...

    Float pressure without sway bar

Just wondering what pressure others are running in their oem float shocks. I have a Timbersled front end and ran 95 psi last year, based on their instructions. It seemed pretty stiff and hard to lay over. I only made it out 3 times last winter so I didn't bother messing with pressures.

    Fox Floats for Apex MTN

Timbersled sells fox floats for the Apex. Look on their website under front suspension. They also list Exit shocks. I have an '07 Apex Mtn (non SE) and simply ordered SE shocks from yamaha sports plaza, but it looks like they are no longer available from Yamaha.

    Turbo blanket?

I just ordered a PTP blanket for a 2860RS turbo, .86 ar turbine. They said their T3/T4 blanket was the one for this turbo. We'll see how it works and fits once the snow flies. It's going on a Impulse Apex.

    fuel control box

I have a trail performer kit from Ulmer for sale. It includes a modded air box and Power Commander with Ignition Module. It should work well with a gutted stock exhaust or I would also sell my Excell undertunnel exhaust with shielding. It was setup to run 91 octane fuel in Utah. I would be...

    Skinz seat

Thanks for the response. That's what I was afraid of. I did get a reply from Skinz and they said they were not sure that it would not work, but thought if I was able to make it work it would require a bit of modification. They didn't provide any dimensions or pictures to go from. Impulse...

    Skinz seat

Does anyone on here have a Skinz seat on their Apex? I'm trying to determine if it would fit with an Impulse turbo. I've emailed Skinz and waiting for a response, but figured I'd ask here, too. The tank is 6.5" tall and 14.125" wide, sitting on the tunnel. If someone has one they could...

    Excell Mountain Lite problems.

I have the same exhaust on my Apex and ran into the same problem when I first installed it. If you search here and on other forums you will see it is a common problem. The solution is to build a deflector of sort to keep the snow from being thrown into the outlet of the exhaust. I called...

    Replace key switch

Thanks for the help. I'll double check the service manual to verify wires before diving in. I'll check around to see if I can find a starter button or on/off switch to fit nicely in the stock key spot.

    Replace key switch

I'm looking to get rid of the key on my Apex. I'd like to have just a on/off switch and a starter button. Has anyone done this or have any ideas what would look and work good?

Finally got the new tunnel cover mounted.

I was able to get a couple pics of the Hartman bumper on my sled, but they are only cell phone pics so they're not the greatest.

Finally got the new tunnel cover mounted.

Hartman bumper I don't have any picture of it on my sled, but I may be able to get one this weekend. It is the standard bumper that he uses on all of his tunnel extension kits. Here is a picture taken from his catalog (http://www.hartmaninc.com/fotos/2010cat ... _lorez.pdf page 58).

Finally got the new tunnel cover mounted.

Bumper I replaced my bumper with one from Hartman, Inc. It is aluminum so it is lighter and it is curved upward to make it easy to lift with. It is reasonably priced ($70 + shipping) as well. You will have to drill new mount holes, but it is a simple install.
