Anyone out there using a turbo blanket for their system? I have a 2860 on my Nypex with a mid mount setup in front of fuel tank and was wondering if this would help keep things cool and how they fit with coolant lines and oil lines. Thanx for any info. Shad

I use a turbo blanket made for the GT28 series turbos, they make a huge difference in removing radiant heat. If you use a blanket and insulate all header and downpipe tubing with header wrapping you can throw away all the aluminum shielding. Aluminum is a poor insulator as it lets radiant heat pass straight thru when it reaches a given temperature.

That's a very reasonable price on the blankets. I got mine from Australia, from a Subaru WRC Speed Shop. Now I can get them from you Greg, nice :)

witch one of those can i use on my Mcx 19T turbo to Nytro with wastgate on topp?

Which 1 do you pic for the 28 series? The T3? Mr Fusion if your looking to get 1, maybe we could order together?

The small blanket they have will fit the 28 series. It depends more on the size of the turbine housing ie .64 or 82 a/r.

You can also go to eBay. They have multiple blankets for all turbo models. I purchased one there last year, fyi I run a 2860...

Im not sure what size it is, other than 2871. Will have to find the box that it came in. I dont do ebay as people on there typically wont sell north of the border & wont use the mail system.

I have the 2860 with the .86 exhaust housing. I would be interested ordering one, just wondering which one with this housing. I will check yours out Twin Turbo. Thanx for the info.

Then you will mail me a turbo blanket then? If so, will be calling you visa #. thanks

The DEI blanket has been good for me. Only downside is that once it has gone through 3 heat cycles it's toast if you have to remove it. They have a new one out with the cut out for the waste gate.

I just ordered a PTP blanket for a 2860RS turbo, .86 ar turbine. They said their T3/T4 blanket was the one for this turbo. We'll see how it works and fits once the snow flies. It's going on a Impulse Apex.

Thanks for the info. The blanket will be going an impulse RX1 kit that I pieced together. Since they dont doing anything for heat shielding.
