I believe that most people mount it in the intercooler. if you do put it in the chargepipe I would assume you would want to put it post cooler. this way it will read accurate air temps that are entering the engine. If you were to tee it off of one of the factory map sensors you could also tune...
If I do a aluminum tank I will weigh it at the end. I think I would want to use 5052 alloy for ease of bending? I wonder if I can use the stock fuel pump assembly and just adapt a couple pickups on the bottom of it. It wouldn't sit at the same angle and I think it would leave a lot of fuel in...
worked a bit more on the cooler. got the input/output ports welded up
also got the waterpump hose put on and routed through the tubes. its really close but should work.
I think what you are doing makes total sense. It shouldn't change caster or camber, that is controlled by the a arms. If anything it would change the toe as it cycles. If you set the tie rods to zero toe and mounted your lazer on the front the of the spindle to point it at the other spindle you...
worked a bit more on the sled. I would really like to avoid building a aluminum fuel tank for it just to save time and maybe get it running this winter. the nytro tank almost fits.....but I hate how all the fuel is up so high. I thought of using a assault tank but I don't want it too close to...
worked a bit more on the sled yesterday.
got the 7/8 tube drilled into the steering post. the bars are fairly high right now I will have to drill and trim in another hole lower into the post. I just wanted to start high to ensure I got the angle correct.
The steering post is 1 1/8 diameter and there will be a 3/4 tube drilled through the top to make a "t" for the riser to clamp on to. Instead of it being a 90 degree angle it will just be at a different angle so that when the sled Is steering forward the t will be parallel to the ground. It may...
It won't be the fuel. He stated he has had this problem for the last 9000kms. Also it sounds like after going to wot and letting off the throttle it almost stalls or does stall when coming down to an idle. I would start by resetting the tps and checking it's voltages. I would think a vacuum leak...
ok so here is the update....I havnet really worked on the sled all summer but I am getting back into it now. I started on the steering and I have come up with a way to have direct steering.
started out by welding a bolt to a uniball off of my old nytro a arm.
then welded the uniball and bolt...
running boards coming along
out in the snow!!!
as it sits the chassis is 27lbs
I started on the cooler today as I have pretty much had it with welding the 4130. the running board tubes were a huge pita.
I got this heat exchanger material and I am wondering how much how big of a...
thanks for the info on the powercommander.
upper steering pyramid is almost done
i got the chaincase fully welded to the alum plate. in hindsight I should of just used a apex chaincase.
I had to make the upper pyramid removeable so that the eingine could come out.
did a bit more work to the sled, got the engine mounted in it and fitted the plastic.
two options for the steering. one is to run it similar to my first setup and use the pro intermediate linkage.
second option is to run the post at a more severe angle to the side and eliminate the...
I am going to hookup the map after the TB so it will read vac. if it doesn't work its a easy fix to move it to the intercooler. Think I will be ok at sealevel running 5psi on 91 octane?? Maybe going to run a 2552turbo .4 ish hotside a/r
front mounts tacked on
on its own feet!!!!!
I will be running a quality TIAL BOV so I don't see how it would create a pressure spike during the throttle release. I want to be able to tune the whole map range vac and boost. I think for now I will try to tee it into the two existing map sensors so it should see vac and boost. If it doesn't...
