Moved this here so you can find some help. Your sled is an RS Nytro. Different motor and chassis than an FX Nytro.

Take the whole assembly, bracket and all. 4 10 mm headed bolts secure the metal,headlight bracket. Deep well 1/4" drive socket and extension is what I use. Previous owner may have secured the pod and then installed bracket and pod.

Stock clutching or an aftermarket setup? This is likely your issue. Most aftermarket kits are setup for aggressive corner to corner acceleration or for more top speed.
