8000-10,000 miles seems to be the range for the 06-10 Apex drive shafts. I had a long cold evening in January of 2012 because of one of these lol!

I'd look into the heavy duty one. I found out after there was a hd one available aftermarket. I already had a new stock one in.

I would go new if it was mine. They are not terribly expensive, I think $230 last time I bought one.Latest post in classifieds is a guy parting out a 2006 Apex ... how do you spell BINGO!

I have a few drive shafts...will have to check on the drivers I have.
You could always open the third windows on the track with a hole saw and Dremel if needed...extroverts would be a preferable way to go as you can run the track a little looser and eliminate the driveshaft breakage issue.

I opened up all the windows on my every 3rd track. I used a little reciprocating saw that I purchased for $40 at Menards. It makes the job much simpler. After you cut out a few and get the hang of it, the rest go much faster. I took it a step further by adding clips where the windows were cut, making it a fully clipped track.
