I put Ulmers header in at 13,000 miles. And 3 of 4 flanges cracked and eroded, just gone! Little expensive but with copper donuts, it will likely outlive me lol!
I had a harness that I bought many years ago. Don't even remember the companies name. Had shoulder and waist straps for your child and you. Kind of like the child carriers where your child is strapped to your chest. They had limited mobility but could move their arms. All of my then younger...
You are correct Metallicat! My Venture is a GT, has the GYTR fronts on it. Didn't remember the electronic Ohlins on the Apex until you mentioned it. In all my years riding demo sleds, I never recall being on one of these.
From what I recall, the Skinz is a vey thinly padded seat developed for mountain and standout riding. I have WRP seats on my Apex and Nytro. I'm 6'3" and have long legs. Hands down the best improvement on both sled are the seats. On the Nytro particularly , it is pretty incredible how it...
My 09 has been updated with EPS. Am running Curves with 8" SlimJim Dooleys. I'm 300 lbs and have carried a 185 lb man through curvy wooded trails with no problem. He had a breakdown and I offered a ride back to the hotel. I ride this sled, an Apex with EPS, and a Nytro. The Venture is a true...
Depending on your size, a WRP seat is an excellent upgrade. Bar relocation is a must in my opinion. Stock bar position is almost like a boat tiller. I've got a Roctoyz HID kit and Yamaheater on mine and love them both. Heres my 08 wth a Cat 141 setback for a 144 track, and factory race team...
Not sure of the part# but the body panels on my 11Apex are held on with a hex head bolt rather than the Phillips head screw. You CAN make your Phillips bit work better by filing or grinding the point some. This allows the bit to fully engage and lessens the likelihood of stripping them.
Port Yamaha for the win! The DuPonts ARE more expensive, but I'm on season 4 and around 3,000 miles and they're still good. Give Kevin a jingle and he'll have them waiting for you. Tell him you're TY Member, you'll be glad you did.
Backpack and make SURE to dry your water tank. Wrapped in a towel or a couple t shirts it'll be fine. I've got a spare that fits in the top of my Yamaha Sport saddlebags, but not with the humidifier attached. Might try that for this years trip.
I had Tuners on my Nytro for one ride. Yanked those crappy things off and put a set of Slydog Powderhounds that came off my old Attak. Turns great, tracks straight and floats off trail. And yes, they are Red and Black. I'm to cheap to buy new ones.
And number 1 on your cooling system checks would be the glycol content of the system. My 06 overheated every time I rode until I diluted my coolant. 100% glycol! Added distilled water until it registered good to -50f and my overheating issues went away. Only time I ever heard the fan kick on...
