I hear ya. It works fine...however I have used Heelclicker setups in the past that pull really hard up top and provide low end accel/torque that is hard to find in any other profiles.
Are you guys running pump gas at 9lbs? I went up one tooth as well with mine at 5-6lbs. 122 is common for top speed in around 2000 ft. I runs 105 in 1000 ft with trail studs spinning the entire track!
I would love to run more boost but it must be on pump gas and reliable!
I am at sea level and running Ulmer Clutching. It runs hard at 6lbs of boost with an excel header and Ultra Q exhaust. However, I have not tried any other clutch setups...wondering if anyone has tried any HeelClicker or Dalton setups. If so, what is working??
Thanks and Merry Christmas...
Thanks for the response. Matt suggested a 25/29 combo putting it at 9.5lbs of boost. However, given I don't have a cooler on mine and don't have the pulleys suggested, I opted to run it as is. It runs really well and has been incredibly reliable so with 200hp, so running it another year as it...
Does anyone have any experience with the MPI reprogrammed ECU on a nytro stage I kit? I spoke to them this past week and am planning to do this, however DONT want to sacrafice reliability. I am currently running a 27 top and 28 bottom setup (5 ish lbs) and am told with this repflashed ECU that...
Agree....no sc or turbo. So, a viper motor in a cat chassis. Really revolutionary. Is the cat chassis all that compared to a REV or RUSH or even Nytro? I want more power!!!!! For me thus far, a big LET DOWN. Guess my Nytro with a SC will be on the trails once again in 2014.
WOW! Great input and tons of super information. It would be cool to meet up and have a Totallyamaha Riders weekend...all riders from east to west. There are so many cool rides with different setups that it would be really cool to converse, ride and race for a few days!
Thanks again...I am...
Congratulations to Jack! My brother Brad Cone and I run with Jack and he works hard at what he does. Brad set a record on his Turbo Powered Apex on Feb. 9th - world record in the Four Stroke Power Adder class running a 157mph!! He also placed 2nd at Hay Days in the Lake Racer Class.
Brad...
I have an 09 XTX (in classifieds - thinking of building another Nytro with a big turbo!) with a Stage I MPI blower...and I too have had similiar results. I have run against stock Nytro's, Attaks and Attaks with NOS. The attak with NOS is the best race, however when my intercooler is cold it...
Thanks guys. We will take your advice and check it out.
When it does fire it runs fine...not like a flooded sled.
To me it seems ignition related. I will pull one plug and spin over to see what spark looks like...
If not that, it must be not getting fuel required to fire the sled...
Thanks! Interesting that your 29 bottom / 27 top made 6-7lbs. Do you know what RPM this was at?
I was told by MPI that a 28 bottom / 27 top would make 7lbs at 8800rpms. I really need a boost gauge!!
Thanks again!!
I believe series...one positive is hooked to the other ground. It spins over great...but doesnt fire properly. We hook a battery pack to it and it spins really fast but it takes forever to fire. Once it starts it will start back up...however if you let it set a day it will not fire for a...
Help! We have an 08 Phazer with a boondocker turbo kit, low comp pistons, dual batteries (which are new). The sled runs fine but unless you start it every hour, it will not start without a jump pack. The sled turns over for 20-30 seconds without firing.
Any help or thoughts would be...
Cool! Thanks for the insight. I have since spoken with MPI and I believe I will run a 28 bottom and 27 top...should be ok for about 6-7lbs at 8800 rpm.
Your wife must be a fun gal! Yikes!!
Hey guys, I am trying to determine what a decent pump gas setup for sea level with a Nytro XTX would consist of. I have an MPI Stage 1 kit with a BOV, A/F gauge and stock engine. I would like to spin it around 8800rpm and I want to RUN PUMP GAS. Again, this is a trail sled.
I have not had...
