New world record for Yamaha

I know Marv Jorgenson, he owns the local Polaris dealer in Fridley, MN where I grew up. Back in the day I saw the Jaws III "sled" (dragster) that he used to set the world record in 1989. It had three four cylinder Mercury motors! To top that with a single engine "sit up and ride" Yamaha is quite an accomplishment!

Wow! ;)!

there'll be some fast yamaha's this weekend in north bay possibly over 190 mph in the quarter :4STroke:

Congratulations to Jack! My brother Brad Cone and I run with Jack and he works hard at what he does. Brad set a record on his Turbo Powered Apex on Feb. 9th - world record in the Four Stroke Power Adder class running a 157mph!! He also placed 2nd at Hay Days in the Lake Racer Class.

Brad is off to the World Series of Ice to run with Jim at OSP. Should be a good weekend for Yamaha!

good for yamaha, but I heard this was a rolling start....is there video showing it stopped at the starting line?

:moon:

Well it was NSSR certified so I'm sure it was done correctly. One thing that may be of some confusion is these guys rarely go WOT at the line, they roll out from a dead stop, then go WOT after a few feet.

I am aware of how a radar run usually works....I am asking if someone has video of it at the starting line...not further back and rolling past the starting line!!

Also, what kind of governin body that is capable of certifying world records would let anyone start behind the start line? That's just silly!

Let's see the vid!

It's all good regardless, it's the fastest!
