It takes a while to fully cook/destroy the starter/wiring/etc. Usually 20+ minutes. (Most sleds with s stuck starter die within 15-20 miles)
A few minutes of running is unlikely to seriously damage the starter.
However to prevent permanent/expensive damage you must KNOW something is wrong AND...
Hi Rich!
All the answers above are good!
1) The circuit that powers the LED it is only live when you are are starting your sled. (If everything is wired & working correctly)
2) The loom is a good idea. : )
3) Just make sure you can see it when you are riding. That way if you have/had an...
Hey Super!
Burlyviper is correct.
The power supply puts out the correct power for your goggles. If you plug your goggles directly into 12v, they age rapidly & will melt.
They are way too expensive to melt.
The issue is that the batteries die relatively quick in the cold.
The colder it is, the...
This happened to a friends sled, it was the Pickup sensor on the stator.
You can't buy it separate from the stator from Yamaha, but can get only the sensor as an aftermarket part.
Hope this helps! :sled1:
The main problem is you can't store enough energy to do the job & still be able to carry it around.
A battery pack gets way too heavy to carry if you want it to last any real useable amount of time.
The colder it is, the worse the problem.
The Electric Goggles have the exact same issue, the...
Hi Guys,
Working away on stuff here at the Labs. : )
Right now, am releasing our P&P Easy Goggle Supply
for 509 Electric Goggles!
For those of you with them, you know the 509 Electric De-fog Goggles do well.
The big issue is batteries dying so fast & you loosing the benefits of the goggles...
Hi Mike!
Yes you can if you mount the threaded end on the cowling or hood, rather than the frame.
Cannondale mounted it to the Cowling as shown in his Easy Headlight Adjust install thread.
Mr Sled mounted his so it comes out of the side under the cowling, both are pretty cool!
Am currently...
Can't really give you an exact answer to that, due to the nature of R&D.
Have a couple testers working on mounting ideas now.
When everything comes together, we will be producing them.
Will let you know when we release them!
Rockmeister :sled1:
As Cannondale pointed out above, he modded how he installed the kit.
The kit as it comes, requires NO Modifications at all, NO drilling of any kind!
Is super easy, almost no tools install. (Need one 7/16" wrench to tighten the Jam Nut for the Control Knob)
It easily clears the Goggle bag &...
Looks great Cannondale! :rocks:
(Our objective was a Super Easy No Tools, or Drilling, install/use & we met that objective.)
Working on one for the Apex also
Ty for the feedback Dude! Post a pic when you get a chance!
We can fine-tune the kit as we get more feedback on it...
Sorry, was hurrying to beat the mailman that day & missed inserting some of the instructions.
I emailed them to you right away that day. (And just now again)
