HA! Bulgaria looks like the 2014 lineup. Even have a Nytro!

    Yamaha RE-tooling for 2020

Well, that's a pretty good list of reasons. Most of which I could argue the validity. Granted, I don't run in Canada where the trails are like super freeways that would put me to sleep. But I have held mine WOT from end-to-end on Lake Gogebic, which is a few miles. I'd be willing to bet that...

    Yamaha RE-tooling for 2020

What pile of things does a turbo bring with it? What added complexity of the system really has any impact on the owner? I will agree that it is more complex of a system, and there are more parts that can fail vs an NA motor. But honestly, mine and many others have had zero issues with a turbo...

    RTX Weight Transfer Rod

I would agree - but thinking that would only be the case when you are under power. I think to be safe, there is really only one way to verify. A person could remove the skid and do a mock up. Make up some fake side plates to represent the tunnel and mount up the front torque arm cross shaft...

    129 uncoupled

Short thread in the Viper section about completely removing the blocks and rod: https://ty4stroke.com/threads/rtx-weight-transfer-rod.152570/#post-1420701 Lots more on this topic in the Viper section. But the more searching you do, the more you will find that the 129 transfers weight way...

    RTX Weight Transfer Rod

Following up on this thread. I gave it a try and completely removed the transfer rod. You ain't kidding!!! You can lift the skis at will! Cruising along and just nailing the throttle will lift the skis high up. Catwalking till the cows come home. For trail riding, I didn't think it was...

Does anyone from Yamaha read our posts?

That would be perfect if they could subtract 100 lbs of weight as well.

Real World 1500 Mile Low Down of new Ski Doo XR-S 900 Turbo vs. SideWinder

I'd also like to know where the Sidewinder got it's weight. AmSnow published a wet weight of a Viper LTX w/ MPI turbo at 630 lbs and a Sidewinder LTX at around 670 lbs. That 40 lbs more than the turbo Viper. Where did all the weight come from???

    Trition TC167 axle placement

Well, I did get a response from Triton on the axle placement. Mine is spot on where it is supposed to be. So as recent as this past weekend, I decided that before I go through the hassle of relocating the axle, I'd at least try one last thing. I already have my tool cabinet at the front of...

    New SRX gear ratio?

The sled they have advertised with the 24/50 gearing is the LTX LE (maybe the SE too). So my guess is the SRX will come with the 21/41 gearing. I kept the 24/50 gearing in my turbo Viper (with no overdrive in the clutch). Yes, it runs out of gear around 105 ... but it is a riot getting there...

    Mountain seat

Here it is on my RTX. I wouldn't say that the foam is any more or less firm than the stock seat. But because it is thicker, it seems a bit softer, while yet you do sit about 2 inches higher. It makes the transition from sitting to standing much easier, and I get less fatigue on my needs and...

    Trition TC167 axle placement

Got a response from Triton. They said the empty trailer tongue weight should be closer to 73 (mine is 40). They asked that I check the trailer is level when hitched to the truck. If the drop hitch is too high, it can cause the squirrelly affect. They also said any accessories (storage boxes...

    Trition TC167 axle placement

There are no additional holes in the frame to move the axle. But it's only 4 bolts that hold the axle to the frame. So it would be easy-peasy to move the axle. I did fire off an email to Triton to see what they say.

    Trition TC167 axle placement

Anyone here with a Triton TC167 single axle ever move the axle? I picked up my TC167 last fall and have used it for just one winter now. I really really like this trailer. It's just the right size and does everything I need it to do. However ... things can get a bit squirrelly with it when...

gates carbon belt vs 8jp belt

I run the Ultimax XS825 (which is the 8JP length) on my turbo Viper. I know it's not the Sidewinder, and the clutching is a tad different. But I've got over 2k of hard riding on the belt so far. Just recently had to adjust the clutch for belt wear. But no blown belts, very little dust, and...

How difficult is it to change out the track?

It's really no more or less difficult than a track swap for any other sled. There is only the added complexity of the oil tank being a part of the chaincase. Which means a disconnection of oil lines (draining the oil) to get the tank off. But since you mentioned the oil lines on your sled are...

TY Ride Videos & Pic 2017-2018

The cup is awarded to the person that 'falls off' their sled. Can change hands a few times during the day. That group should add to the awarding of the cup that who has it at the end of the day buys the first round!

    2020 Release

I guess I better brush up on my Yamaha history. Thanks for correcting me. Regardless, I still think they will learn what they can from Cat vs buying them.

    2020 Release

I don’t see Yamaha buying Cat - ever. Yamaha is not in the business of acquisition and they are too proud of a company to simply buy Cat. They will learn what they can from Cat then build upon that to develop their own products. When in the entire history of the Yamaha have they ever bought...
