Just snowchecked the SRX LE. Is there any info on the gearing it will come with? Arctic has a spec for the 2019 thundercat with 24/50 gear. Hope yamaha will be at least 21/41 on the srx.
Any toughts.
Cheers

I had them both 24/50 quicker et, 21/41 more top end, it depends on what you want. The srx I believe is 24/50

24/50 with a tune and you are out of gear fast....gps prob 115-118ish...most well tuned cats ended up going to 21/41 or 22/41..

Funny that they advertise the srx as the fastest of the sidewinders with a 2.08 gear ratio. 21/41 would be best suited for my riding style. Guess we will see.

I would think that a sled that is clearly targeted towards top end speed will not have less than 21/41.

The sled they have advertised with the 24/50 gearing is the LTX LE (maybe the SE too). So my guess is the SRX will come with the 21/41 gearing.
I kept the 24/50 gearing in my turbo Viper (with no overdrive in the clutch). Yes, it runs out of gear around 105 ... but it is a riot getting there! For my riding area and style, it's just right

I no of a few cats with 24/41 at a 1.70 gear ratio and worked very well , lots of top end mph . I personally like the 21/37 or 22/37 gearing on my sidewinder. I have had good luck with this gearing both in the trails and lake , no belt issues with any of these gearing combos ,

If they put big primary roller, the sled gona lose "snap" down low. Maybe thats why they go 24/50 insted of 21-41 Seriously srx should be lake racer??? 21-41. Wtf.

I think we are all just speculating here, no one knows the final calibration for the new SRX for sure.....do they?If they put big primary roller, the sled gona lose "snap" down low. Maybe thats why they go 24/50 insted of 21-41 Seriously srx should be lake racer??? 21-41. Wtf.
Who knows, they may have different weights also.

You guys are all way overthinking this. They wanted it to be the fastest top end model they offer stock. They stated the goal was to gain roughly 6mph. The track alone does most of this for them going to 1 inch. Pretty simple to deduct that the effective gearing ratio would remain the same as 21/41 or even 22/41 end ratio to do and achieve this.

What track/lenght are you running with 21/37??
I don’t plan to keep that 1” Ripsaw.
Probably the 1.5 crossover.

129 , 1 inch ripsaw 2 track , if u plan on going with the 1.5 track , u may want to stay with the 21/41 or 24 /50 gearing , thats a lot of track to turnWhat track/lenght are you running with 21/37??

Seems to me a real lake racer would have been 129. Transfers better and faster imo!!
