I purchased a "bargain" set of HIDs from some unknown online entity. They were junk. I installed the real bargain kit from Rock and I couldn't be happier!!
Looks like your bearings, index 59 on Track Suspension 2 illustration found on most Yamaha dealer sites, are shot. Here's a link to Port Yamaha, a site sponsor: https://shop.portyamaha.com/fiche_section_detail.asp?section=1236417&category=Snowmobiles&make=Yamaha&year=2007&fveh=33549
I use the ski-mount brackets supplied by Travis at Barn of Parts. They work great! Never had any unusual ice buildup but those scratchers do kick up a bunch of snow so there's always a pile of snow laying in the suspension. And his are designed to "break away" in the event the scratcher gets...
I don't see any reason to swap it out. A guy I ride with had significantly more damage than that when he bought his sled used and it lasted for several years. Only changed it when the suspension busted to pieces and dug a deep channel down the middle. Do a visual inspection periodically, I'd...
Can anybody tell me the size of the track tension adjustment nuts (2008 Apex)? I think they're 11 mm 1.0 thread, but I'm not sure. Don't have the adjuster with me to check hardware.
After you get 'er back in the sled I'd do this adjustment first: https://ty4stroke.com/threads/apex-mono-shock-set-up-procedure.151378/
Don't skip through it; measure and adjust per the procedure.
If you're not sure on the transfer you want set the transfer rod mid-position and see how she...
Is the black cap that's on the front of the suspension rail supposed to be loose/flop around? It is held on by rivet, but it seems strange that it's able to move around.
When you're riding on bumps you'll hear a clunking from the skid. You'll be wondering what's about to frag...not to fear, it's just the transfer rod doin' its thing.
I believe you can change all to solid state except for the one that feeds the lights. I believe the connector pattern's different on that one.
Verified - see this thread; steiner's post.
