Thanks got it done w brute force, ended up using 4lb sledge and a long extenion bar for a ratchet and just hit it. The tool is useless!!!!

hi, have an 06 apex rtx today no start w code 12 and dying battery. the sled started fine in Sept. No work done to it other than a trickle charger. Stored inside. Any thoughts as I looked up code 12 and don't see how some of those sensors would fail with the sled sitting there. Thanks

Does the banging only happen at slow speeds? or does it matter?

Have you downloaded the manual from this site? At least you can see how everything fits together.

Yamaha now sells a steel replacement. I think they are around $70. Much more durable than the original ones.

Just purchased the new spot 2 gps. Once I tried to activate it, turns out there is a recall. They are sending me the return shipping package. New units supposed to be ready early 2010. Just a heads up. Cost was 169 US.

Thanks guys got it off. Trying to remove gear on driveshaft. It's not reverse threaded or anything wierd right? I'll look in other posts as well.

Thanks, got that. It seems that bearing behind collar doesn't want to slide off shaft completely. i can move the entire cover back and fourth on shaft about 2"

Hi guys, I'm trying to change the jackshaft bearing as per the instructions on the site. I've got the four bolts out of the cover and the coller off the bearing but the cover doesn't seem to want to give. Do you have to give it a pounding, or am I missing something? thanks

I had to heat the bolts to get them out. When working on my fathers sled, we broke one and easily found a replacement at home depot.
