Not sure if anyone else has heard this, and I was a little apprehensive to agree but I will post it just the same. When my starter went I talked to the service rep at the dealership and they told me you should always use yamaha oil because of additives put in for specific reasons. One of them...
I put a set of a arm guards on my sled and it made a huge difference in the deep snow. I also installed the yamaheaters and would not give a second thought about installing them again. Great purchase and awesome troubleshooting from Rock
I have been using seafoam for a number of years now and have never had any problems. The only problem I have heard was a friend used it on his boat that was stored improperly and not used for four years. He ran it through and it did what it was supposed to do by removing all the crap. Problem is...
For the price of a bearing and loosening two set screws, why would you not just replace it if you are in that far anyway? I seen first hand what happens if they let go while you are riding- it's not pretty!
Had a similar issue
I had the same problem last year. Ends up the commutators on the starter let go from the epoxy (where the brushes ride on). When I turned the key everything seemed fine except it did not turn over. I think what was happening was the brush would get stuck on the loose...
Cant wait to try them!
Hey Rock, just letting you know I received the pnp with boost yesterday afternoon and installed it last night. I have to say that I am converted. I was somewhat sceptical about purchasing this because it sounded like you had all your buddies writing reviews to boost...
I have 5500 miles on it. My starter rebuild was out because the commutator pieces had let go. This is what was now obviously holding up the starter as the brushes were getting caught on them. Replaced the starter with a new one and back in business.
I finally took a kick at tracking my problem down. It seems to be the starter there is full power to the starter so that checks out. Bench tested it and it would not work unless I started spinning the gear with a pair of pliers. Took it apart and it LOOKS like it needs brushes as there were a...
I helped my buddy stretch his 08 apex with a tracks USA kit. It went together really easily and looked better than stock when we were all done as the rear tunnel extension sits higher than the stock
Just a quick question to find out if anyone has played with the stock settings on this machine or not. When I first bought the sled I felt it had more pull and better top end than I have now since I played with spring settings. I bought it used so the previous owner may have gone away from...
Did you need to have your track quite tight so it did not ratchet? Just wondering if this could have been part of the problem or not. I have the same sled and I can't believe how tight I need to keep my track so it does not ratchet at take off. Also wondering how you liked or disliked the...
