Well, damn. I just went to put the sled in the shop (it had spent a couple nites outside in the parking lot) and I noticed the right side shock was now fully extended. so as the sled was warming up I rocked it back and forth to see the shocks and A arms work, which they did for a few times until...
Hmmm, Sweet.
Well, I measured the shocks on the sleds so apparently that wasn't an accurate measurement. Are shocks supposed to be measured previous to installation?
LSX - Yeah I'll figure out a place that can rebuild the oem shock. Whats a ballpark price on that? However, since my bud is...
I went out yesterday to burn some gas and right out of the trailhead my right front shock (stock 08) compressed and wouldn't extend.
It seems like it's broke, I'm gonna get it in the shop tonite and take a closer look. Not surprised after five years of banging the snot out of it that it would...
Sweet. Got that figured out. I will go buy a new relay at the dealer tomorrow after work.
Tarzan, that makes sense that that piec is the reverse beeper. Because it quit making noise years ago.
Can I just get rid of that thing? Or is that bad for the electrical system?
It's pretty cool...
OK I just crossed out the relay and it fires up!
No more error code. Runs fine.
But then it won't start with the key.
It will start with the screw driver.
Does that mean the starter relay is bad and needs replacement, or could it just be frozen?
And is that bad for the sled to start it...
Went to load the sled up and it won't start. Not even a click.
Flashing Error Code 12. Crank case position sensor.
Sled has been sitting outside in the cold for a week. Fairly iced up from pow riding.
A wire coming from the crank case side that has a black circle shaped plastic piece on...
Oh man, my new phone is schooling me with the posting. Sorry guys. I'm gonna do more sledding and way less posting. Thanks for the help everyone. See you for the next project!
Performance update: New skid is kicking #*$&@.
No pics yet. Too deep. However the sled is performing very noticeably better in the deep. And it's gettin real deep in the West Elks right now.
So far so good. Yeah!
Beeze - I got it mounted on the front pretty much like OTM's diagram. Feels pretty good, but there is not much snow to get too rowdy on.
Ten miles yesterday on the road mostly, then some noboarding. Going out right now, just sleddin, no skis or boards. Pictures coming soon.
Interesting.
Got the 07 m8 skid in the Nytro.
Got the chain case put together correctly this time.
Got the bolts tight.
Feels rad in the front yard.
I think shes ready ride.
Thanks for the info guys, I'll let you know how it goes.
I'd figure a way to hoist it from the back.
Use a stubby posidrive phillips to get the bolts out.
Then use the reverse method to pop the hyfax off.
I've done the reverse method a few time and it works great
