Installed windshield bag
Greased left side driveshaft/jackshaft bearings
Installed HalfBaked skid Arms and revalved shock
Charged battery
This thing is ready to go. I bought it last year and only put on 80 miles due to snow conditions and not having a trailer. I am dying to let her loose...
I appreciate the responses.
I will look into some of these products and try one of them. I will also be bringing the sled into the garage after each trip/ride so it will be able to dry out. Shouldn't really be a problem but I thought there would be something simple to coat these/cover these...
Ok, so I am trying to find a way to cover the 8 bolts (4 on each ski) that hold the carbide to the ski. I don't have a covered trailer yet, will be getting one next summer 2013. When I take the sled out snow/ice and eventually water get in those ski holes where the carbide bolts sit and it rusts...
I plan on having it for the foreseeable future. I just had the rear suspension arms beefed up/powdercoated and my shock refreshed/revalved. The engine is in great shape and only 6800 miles on an 07 which I don't think is bad.
I will probably keep riding it and upgrading some of the major...
Is this something you have to grease every year like the Speedo/jackshaft bearing or is this something you grease when installed and never again? Just wondering. To be honest, the 100 extra dollars it would cost would be worth it to me to never have to touch them again.
The donuts were just changed last season, and because of the weather I only got 110 miles on last year so they are basically brand new. Will I be able to see what condition they are in when I get to this bushing or do I need to dig deeper to see the actual donuts?
Can you get to the other two without really taking anything else apart? I haven't looked at the donuts thread to see, but I'm assuming the gas needs to be completely drained to remove.
Sled has 6800 miles on it and I don't see a log that these have ever been changed. I will get the nice OFT...
@ Soldier'spapa, it sounds like it's coming from the middle picture in the thread you posted.
Is that under the seat and gas tank? How much work would it be to get to this? It looks very stripped down and may be more work than I can handle.
Was doing some work on the sled today and noticed when I turn the skis to the left there is a noise like something needs to be greased in the steering.
Is there anything that needs to be greased on these from time to time? If so, how easy is it to get to? The noise seems to be coming from...
I am in Wi Rapids also. Bought my 07 Apex last season and only got to ride once up north due to a bad winter.
I am looking for people to ride with in this area so once we get snow let me know if you're up for riding.
I just sent mine to Pioneer Performance in NY.
I think Hygear is another place a lot of people on this site have used. I think both offer a good product.
Pioneer is doing a revalve and replacing the seals in the shock for me, it's like 115 bucks.
I did finally get these wheels off. A lot of pounding but nothing looks damaged.
I think I will just replace those top large wheels while it's all apart. I don't ever want to have to take those off again.
Shock is sent out for new spring/re-valve and arms are getting beef up kit. AND it's...
About 6700 miles on the sled. These wheels have been replaced before I think.
It looks like there is some sand or something caked on the ends, not sure if that is causing an issue or not. I will clean it up as best I can and try heating it up. I need to get these off so I can send the arms in...
The wheels are in good shape but still cannot get them off.
I have tried knocking the ends in on each side and nothing is budging. I am limited in the tools I have.
Does anyone have any other suggestions to getting these wheels off without damaging them or the shaft?
Hi all,
I got the skid removed and have everything taken apart except one thing. I cannot figure out how to get the Large top idler wheels off of the rear suspension arm. I have taken the bolts off and have tried pulling the wheels off but them see pretty stuck on there.
The top wheels in...
