How many miles on the sled? How much boost? At minimum a good clean; I'd lean towards pulling the clutch and have it gone through / rebalanced. Cheap insurance.
Absolutely agree with Michigandir. You name a sled, you'll find postings about problems. The actual incidence of problems is difficult to judge, as typically those with problems will post. With the technology and engineering that goes into these Nytros (you'll see when you start taking it...
Good: reasonably priced right now; amazing engine; great power; rider-forward posture; excellent after-market with solutions to most of the cons (I'll list them in parenthesis below). Fit / finish is excellent; easy to find parts for it; well engineered, especially for the price point.
Bad...
We're on our fourth season on an MTX. Agree with above posts - funky design, but a lot of fun. Lots of (unwarranted) negative press about access to the engine - but you can pull the front sub-frame off in about 20'. Look closely at the front suspension for symmetry - A-arms are readily...
I went through the same dilemma this year - insulated vs non-insulated. I like the idea of adding / removing layers during the day, as conditions change where I ride. I went with the Valdez jacket over the stealth - after trying both side by side, I liked the Valdez much better. Heavy duty...
Excellent point. I had mine on a dolly, placed toward the back of the skid. Couldn't figure out why it squatted so low. Pulled out the dolly, allowed the suspension to work as it's designed. Very different picture when flat on the ground.
It all depends how far and on what side.
When pulling the skid, I pull the sled over on its side and rest the handlebar on a 5 gallon bucket. I make it a point of tilting it over on it's right side, never spilled any oil. Having rolled my phazer entirely too many times, my airbox been...
When you shut it down last, did you hit the kill button and call it done or did you turn off the key? Reason I ask is I made that mistake; turns out there is a constant draw when the key is on and the kill button is pushed (even though the instruments don't come on).
If in doubt about a Nytro...

Getting harder and harder to find Phazer parts. Had a hell of a time finding a windshield bag the other day...
I'd start with the basics - lube it thoroughly to reduce binding; ensure adjusters for torsion springs and front spring are exactly where you want them. I added some hygear torsion spring spacers and that helped as well. My son's Phazer MTX is very sensitive to suspension setup - and he weighs...
I utilized the same high tech tip device (5 gallon bucket) - never had a problem either. My son rides our Phazer and we ride mountains so one of the first things I purchased was a rollover kit from fourstrokesolutions. The inventor is active on this site and his product paid for itself when my...
Has the machine ever rolled over completely? It makes an ugly mess inside your engine compartment / air cleaner. A 4-5" circle can be made by surprisingly small amounts of fluid.
Just laying it over like that would not likely drain oil out of the breather tube on top of the oil reservoir...

Excellent guy to deal with, phenomenal customer service. I've also purchased their steering relocate kit and steel rivets.
I would look closely at the front A-arms for overall alignment and symmetry. Steering slop is a chronic issue (I just did bushings on one with 350 miles), so don't be surprised if it is loose. Front arm on rear suspension can crack at top weld, hyfax wear between bogey wheels. Checking...
Took it apart and found exactly that. The bushing was displaced about 1/4". Pressed it in (w/ Loctite this time), rebalanced, and put it back on.
Now the clutch was about 32g out of balance, but that's for another thread.
Good call Voda 2000.
Local clutch guru took it apart (I got to watch); a bushing was not seated correctly from the factory. Pressed it in with locktite, reassembled and balanced it. Glad it was something easy.
My apologies - forgot to mention this is a buddy's phazer. I posted here as there seems to be more clutch expertise than other area. Rest of sled is pristine - 350 miles appears accurate.
The subframe has to come off for the steering fix, easier to do oil change
