24"---- 2'.... and a swamp under it in Western NY.
I don't know if the trails are open or not...I took the quad out yesterday and trees are down all through the woods...
well lets see---89 Exciter, welded it 4 times... 98 SRX, welded once, replaced once... 03 RX1, replaced @ 5400 miles....Wifes 02 Viper, still looks good ( she wont let me ride it...)...Is it me???
When you checked your plugs did the coils seem loose? Did you pull off the rubber boots from the coils and try sliding a spark plug in...I had one that was screwed up and all the plugs had bad wear marks at the point of contact inside the coils...I used Deep Creep to clean the coils up--- but...
Try moving the throtle cable around slowly while it is idling..Does it idle faster? I had to find a position that the cable didn't move around, watch the motor jump when you hit the flipper....
Duane---
The W-arm will need a close inspection, paint missing around the welds is a sign of stress--look for cracks starting..I just had to replace mine (5800 miles). along with the track, when it broke it took out almost all the clips and the inside drive cogs....my limiter straps were...
Make sure the choke is turning off all the way...I had to mod mine to make sure it was off...All o-rings under carb tops? dirty pilots...make sure on of the fuel lines from the pump to the carbs is not pinched......good luck...let me know how things work out..Are you from western NY ??
Have you adjusted the fuel screws? If so were they all the same? If you did set them you may have changed the idle position for the sensor thus a different reading @ 1350rpms. I would make sure the pilots are clean, the carbs are synced and the TPS is checked. The timing on this motor is...
The output should be between .710vdc and .775vdc
with the engine off, key on and warmed up..It sounds like you need to bump up the timing...it wont take much to get it into range. I had a low reading and was chasing a couple of issues..I used a pair of straight pins and slid them into the...
If you feel at all uncomfortable about this don't do it----I don't want to be held responsible....I found this info here on this website...you need to check output from the TPS @ idle (1350+-100rpms) warmed up...I used a pair of straight pins and slid them up in the connector for the TPS on the...
Set your fuel screws to 2.0 or what ever the manual says and THEN vacuum sync. or I used the sun and visual synced mine. Make sure your pilots are clean.....let me know what the TPS reading is.
I strongly suggest a check of the TPS -- I just got back from a 50 mile run and I wish I looked into this earlier.....,710vdc to .775vdc @ idle, warm. Let me know what you find.....
My riding buds know that I don't use the brakes as much as a 2 stroke and ride accordingly but at a pitstop the other day one asked why I didn't warn him about the bad spot in the trail....I said I did and we went in to have a pop...When we left I checked to see if I had brake lights --nope--..I...

Did you pull your carbs at the time of your oil change to do a clean and tune???I am not questioning the job done then but really wonder if the TPS was checked afterwards....
