    2014 Darting

My wife's 2014 Vector darts like crazy. I've made multiple adjustments to the rear suspension, adjusted the front springs, set the toe-in to 0 degrees, changed to front wear bars to 4" carbides on the inside and hard bars on the outside, all to no avail. My next thought was to go back to a...

Snowmobile trail maps & smart phone

Download the Polaris Ride Command App from the Play Store, its free and works great. I bought a mount to hang the phone on my handlebars. Get a plug in adapter for your power outlet, hook the phone up to keep it charged and away you go. To go with the Polaris App, I'll download the local trail...

    Doo Modular 2 Helmet FYI

Funny, we picked up a Vision 180 at the Milwaukee Snow Show 2 years ago for $100. On our first ride this year, my wife complained that she couldn't see, turns out the seal had failed between the 2 panes of plastic. Took it back to the local Ski Doo Dealer (Don & Roy's in Brookfield, WI) and the...

06 vecter gt Oil coming out of vent hose on oil tank

I'm not an expert on this by any means, but I do own 2 - '06 Vectors from new. My understanding is, some oil will be pumped into the airbox area, however, that is what the smaller hose is for that runs back down and reconnects to the motor, it's a return line. So as long as everything is...

    New 509 modular helmet

I kind of had a feeling that this would be the case from looking at the pictures, they talk of a "great breath box", but it just didn't look that way in the pic's. Thanks for the heads up. John

    New 509 modular helmet

Has anyone actually "Touched" one of these? I'm just curious how they compare to the BV2S, mainly in the "Breath Box Area". I really like mine, but I'm always open to something better. Thanks, John

    Trailer floor finishing.

If you're looking for an economical route, go to your local salvage yard and pick up an old bed liner, (if you play your cards right you can get them for free). Cut the bed liner with a circular saw into 6" wide strips and screw them to the floor, your carbides won't even scratch them. I then...

Replacing tensioner... It can't be this hard!

Oh yeah, if you didn't take out the spacer, it would probably be virtually impossible to get that bottom bolt out. Glad everything went well.

Replacing tensioner... It can't be this hard!

I just finished doing both of my Vectors, the first one was a royal pain, the second one actually went much smoother. From the looks of your picture, you've got everything where you need it. I was able to access the bottom bolt coming in from the rear of the sled through the gas tank space, then...

How much does an 06 Vector weigh

According to Yamaha's website, the '06 weighs 536 lbs. They don't list the weight for the new ones. The newest sled they list is the '09 with a weight of 570 lbs. So my guess is, you won't be seeing any weight savings going to the new ones, but with the Power Steering, who cares, just don't get...

Secondary belt shims adjustment for no Squealing

Just remember that as you slide off the clutch, keep track of the spacers/washers that are located on the main shaft of the clutch and reinstall them the same way as they came off. Its really not difficult, you can use the tools supplied in the kit, you'll only need 2 wrenches, don't know the...

Secondary belt shims adjustment for no Squealing

Very easy, I usually set the parking break and simply remove the single bolt in the middle of the clutch and slide it off, that's it.

Secondary belt shims adjustment for no Squealing

I had that problem last year, it's a really simple fix. After removing the belt, simply remove the secondary clutch, keep track of how the washers are spaced on the back side. Once you have it off, you'll find 3 small bolts on the back side, one at a time, remove a bolt and then remove a washer...

    More Comfortable Throttle

Has anyone tried the NCI Thumbdrive? I personally don't have any issues, however my wife is very uncomfortable after a day of riding (I won't say complaining, because she's a really good sport about it) however, I know she's hurting after a day of riding. I'm just curious if this will really do...

Do I really need the Battery Tender quick connect?

I have used the Battery Tender Junior on 2 - 2006 Vectors since new, still have the original batteries and last I checked, they are good as new. When we're not riding them, they're on the tender, works great. I just aligator clip them to the jumper leads, works fine.
