Yeah I have one of those too. '06 DRZ400SM with two sets of wheels. One set for street, and one set for off road. Then I also still have my YZ Race bike from when I was still racing. Only rode it once last year though. Thinking of selling it though to get the wife a bike to go trail riding...
X2 on the above. Also I haven't heard good things about their (HyGear) valving either. Some one had a post about it on the Apex section of this forum I think. Just a stiffer straight rate valving, not a progressive valve stack like it should be.
Someone already said it, but I'll say it...
I do have some, but I'll have to look for them. I took them back in 2006 when I did it, but I think those pics are on my old HD. I'll have to pull it out and get them off there to upload them.
Well most dealers don't want to do it as Yamaha only pays the dealer a lesser rate for the labor of the service tech. So having warranty work done at the dealer doesn't put as much money in the dealers pocket as if they can easily get the customer to pay the regular labor rate that the dealer...
I did the same thing last year to get my shocks out for revalving and had no problems last year or this year with those idler wheels. So don't worry about it.
And to add to the needed bushings, I spoke with Cannondale about his last year and UP Bushman about it this year, we need a...
Yeah mine have been replaced twice now in 4700 miles. Mine got a real slight wear on the spindle but not no where near as bad as yours. I must have noticed mine before it was that bad. The second time I saw pieces of the outside bushing on the ball joint hanging out, so I knew it was shot again.
I have C&A's on my sled with 9" Studboy Shapers and they work great with no darting. It goes right where I point it, but can turn a little hard at slow speeds.
PS also have the UP Bushman and OFT mods to my steering and spindles. Also Milled my upper ball joint mount like 08 Nytro guys did...
I'm sure they are going to be better than the stock stuff. I'm not sure what skis you use on your race sled Seth, but when I was up there last week UPbushman and I found that the full premium kit fits on the C&A pro ski I got on my sled.
I have used the stock one's since new, but this year I went to the skinz ones. I really like them so far no issues and they keep my hands nice and warm.
Yeah take every movable part apart to grease them and loctite all the bolts. Even on my motocross bikes Yamaha doesn't know what grease or loctite looks like, never have as far as I know. They are real stingy on the grease and loctite.
Zack don't worry about the rust it's not there anymore.
Yeah the Front ski shocks on the FX are the only ones that have rebound adjustments. Those are on the bottom of the front ski shocks. The center shock has no adjustments, only spring preload. The rear shock only has the compression adjustment that you mentioned.
FYI the suspension upgrade was an as needed basis update, not a recall. In other words they only replaced it if you broke it. Some dealers on their own replaced them ahead of time, but that was not the standard protocol.
