Hello, this is my 1st post on this site, my prob is this, the charging sys . does not seem to be working . With a new battery properly charged, not running I get 12.70 volts , running not much higher, running with lights on 12.27. it should be at 14 or better running with lights off, I checked the stator resistance like the manual says it should be 0.32 to 0.43 , I get .4 and .5 my dealers mech. says those #s are good. The next inst. in manual is check all conn. in charging sys. I think I got them all, and all look ok. Then it says replace rectifier/ reg. got one on order , hope that is the prob. Has anyone experienced this type of prob.? thanx.

Nope not the prob. after $104 oh well , ill keep on , keepin on . Any electrical Gurus out there? Help
here's something to check-you've probably already done these but here it goes.
1. pull fuse and make sure you have 12 volts at one side of the fuse.
2.put fuse back in and check outgoing volt. is present.
3.unplug connector from reg/rect and check for 12 volts at end of plug.
4.check that the ground is terminated correctly at the reg/rect.
5. check wire looms for a melted section or "hot" area that may have burned a wire in half.
6.check continuity between connecting connectors to verify a wire isnt broken.
keep after it and maybe have your battery load tested to eliminate it.hope you gett'er done!

Well ok I learned a valuable lesson after all that it was the stator , what a waste of $$ on my part, should of went with my first instinct, at 1st I thought it was the stator , but even the dealer told me thse #s were good, well I put a new stator in and it is pumping out 14.47 V at an idle . YEhA!!! ready to ride !!!!
great....ready to get to back to the roostin
