Went to take bike out of the garage today..it started right up but when I let the choke off and went to drive it out it stalled....started it again and when I went to drive it out again it again stalled....then I think I flooded it trying to start it again...took the plug out and although it was wet I check it and it had fire to it...can a plug need replacement even if it fires?? cleaned the plug up , put it back in the machine but nothing...it turns over, but will not start...if you flood a bike bad how long would you need to wait before trying to start again??? Does anyone have any suggestions for me?? Suppose to be leaving early tomorrow morning on a tav trip......Help Boys...Diceman

My 04 did this two different times to me. Took it in under warranty the first time, 2nd time took care of it myself by pulling the carb out and carefully clean everything, the 87 oct fuel gets gummy quick I only use the nonoxygen fuel from now on. Hope the helps.

put a new plug in it after letting it sit for 2hrs with it out. this allows the cylinder to dry out. the old plug needs to be heated so that no smoke comes off of it to get rid of all the fuel on it. bbq works great for this and it doesnt stink up the house. make shure the kill switch is on and it should fir right up. might want to put some seafoam in the gas to clean it up and stablize the gas.

So I am quessing that the only way to splve problem is to take carb off?? Is it easy to get off and if I could how would you clean it?? Whats the cost on average at a dealer to do it? Diceman

Its a real pain to get the carb off. I would guess it may cost around $60 to $100 to get the carb cleaned and machine running.
Clean with carb cleaner from auto parts store. I am sure the float bowl is full of crud and if you knocked the vent plug off the carb then you have mud and water in the float area.
