its not bad to do with sync tool, but if it runs that bad I"d bet its more than syncing carbs...lot of videos on syncing.I've never synced carbs before. I'll have to study up on that. I converted to Yamaha and went straight to fuel injection.

Ok. She's back to 100%. Definitely a carbit issue. I believe based on the amount of gunk, these carbs had no hope of clearing out just pulling the bowls and cleaning at an amateur level. I think that explains the poor idle but I also believe they were out of sync due to the popping and shaking.
I swapped in a good set and she's finally back to normal.
Anyway, thanks to everyone for all the info and help.
Did you synch them after you installed them?
FWIW - I've purposely tried to "de-synch" my carbs BAD. Poor idle was the result....but never got any popping ir misfiring.

No. I just took a set of a perfectly running vector and threw them on.
