I keep hearing that there is a clip for 3 stages of the shock adjustment. I do not see it. I see there is a cam with 7 adjustments but no clip. My sled will not transfer and is very stiff. Dose any one have a pic of this clip or can someone tell me how to adjust it? Thank you

The clip is what the shock adjuster(cam) rides on. you have to compress the spring with a spring compressor and move the ring down. If it is stock then I think it is in the softest setting, I could be wrong though. Sounds like it has maybe been revalved for a heavy rider? Did you just get the sled?

Check this post it shows the adjustment ring on the shock. What sled do u have? How much do u weigh. What is the spring set at? To adjust the clip setting that is under the ramp u need to compress the spring and then move the clip, but moving the clip will up will put more preload on the spring stiffening the suspension. When was the last time the suspension was greased? Maybe a softer spring. To adjust the transfer, lengthen the transfer rod which is the shock like looking device parallel to the ground with no spring (assuming that u have a mono skid). There is a wrench in the tool kit for adjusting but the jam nut can be very tight. The wrench has min/max adjustment marks on it. Good luck.

Sorry. It is a 2006 Apex ER. I bought it last year with 3900 miles on it. Late in the year my buddy bought a 2006 Apex RTX and his transfers realy good. I have my transfer rod is set to max just like his but but I cant get my skies up at all. I know the cam is set to 6 but I dont know what posion the clip is in. I cant see it. I weigh about 200 lbs with all my gear. I had the skid out and cleaned and regreased all the bushings in the skid.Iit handels the bumps great and has never bottomed out but his rides softer. The guy I bought it from was maybe 230 lbs. I will try and compress the spring tomorrow and see where the clip is set. Thank you

I just checked. The spring is stock and the clip is set to the first spot (soft) What now? Am I missing some thing?

Is your buddies sled the exact same as yours?
Did he ever get the shock revalved/rebuilt?

Check his limiter strap like what was suggested and compare and also his spring, are they the same?

I know he has the fox float in the front. I will have to check the rear shock. My limiter strap is as long as I can make it. Last hole. As soon as we get some snow, I will just have to play with it. Thank you

Well the shock and spring really don't effect transfer all that much.
Check the limiter strap.
He also said that the rear suspension was stiff. Is it the stock spring?

I think the spring is stock. It is gray. How can I tell?
