WELL WENT OUT TONIGHT PUT 23GEAR IN... DALTON HELIX 51/43 WHITE YAMAHA SECONDARY SPRING 3-3 WITH BLUE WHITE BLUE PRIMARY SPRING
OFF THE LINE RPM AT 10200 AND AT THE END OF 2000 FEET ITS AT 10900 AND THE ATTAK IS ABOUT 4-5 LENGTH AHEAD OF ME :o|
I GUESS ITS NOT RUNNING THAT BAD IT PULLS HARD JUST NOT HARD ENOUGH FOR ME

this is the classic RPMS pattern for stock flyweights...they hit low then rpm upward at top end....yammie designed them this way..

IMO those stock weights will never be real fast in bottom and mid....I know it doesnt answer the question about attack beating you though.

this is why i like the dalton DPYRs...they hit hard at 10,600 or so,then head up near 10,900 or so ontop..the difference in midrange is incredible...hard to beat a sled with those.

I know no attack or mach for that matter can get by me here....and Im pretty sure machs are alot faster then most attacks...at least here they are..

Dale at Dalton spent alot of time engineering the DPYRs..very hard to beat these weights...

Dan

This wouldnt explain why the Attak is beating him as they are using the same flyweights.

My guess is the Attak has better traction, studding, better transfer...etc...BBY

my theory is the lenght of the track....when you run down the track on hard packed snow it looks level...but its not... small bumps ,ruts left bye other snowmobiles, small drifts...not alot but enough to make a diffrence..now the attack has a bigger foot print on the snow then the shorty it always has more track grabing the terrain....i really notice it on my F-1000 when I took the blocks out ..its pulling really good then I feel the front skies start going up and I can see that it stop closing the gap..the skies come down and it starts to catch up again..(wasted energy).....I am willing to bet a case of beer that at the end of the season when we start runing on ice all being equel the shorty will have a quicker top speed. :drink:

satan has to remember that moose magnet and i are highly trained athletes (ha,ha). but seriously he will have something that rocks real soon. he is not afraid to keep trying.

He's not putting a turbo on a "short track" now is he?

The ATTACK is quicker and faster for two reason's. Bigger foot print= traction out of the hole and all the way to the top. The second and maybe the biggest is the ATTACK has a flater approach angle. Dale frome Dalton think's these 121" sled's are spining even at top end. In there testing they were quicker and faster with more stud's. The extra rolling mass does not hurt them on top. IMOP this is why the ATTACK is puting more HP to the ground. kviper
