Does anyone have any good ideas how to split the Y pipes. have 1 broken flange and 1 cracked. Also whats the best replacement or fix? Have it all tore done just cant get the split..

Do you mean separate the Y pipes from the muffler pipe? If so then make sure you have the two clamps lossened off. Keep the Y pipes bolt on the front hanger. Beat the exhaust back with a block off wood across the muffler and a large hammer.
Replace the Y pipes with stainless steel replacement pipes.

yes.. I have done this and no luck.. gonna try a ratchet strap tomorrow after work..

Got it apart... Has anyone tried the flange repair kits? With success?

I used them on my Attak and they worked great for the last 3 years I owned. Also less money. If you plan on keeping the sled for significant time, go with the stainless.

I just replaced the right side pipe, as the left was fine. I think I got a stainless for 140 bucks or so. With copper donuts, it's the quietest it's ever been.

Where did you find that for $140. Best I can find is $400 pair..

Hope you replaced both if you put copper donuts in there, other is sure to go, those ti pipes don't like the copper ones.

They would be goin on the Wifes sled.. less than a 1000 mi. a year.

I just did mine. One flex pipe broke and all the graphite donuts were worn. Had existing ss y-pipes. Used new copper donuts. Within a day of the fix another flex pipe broke. Just decided to replace the remaining three original. That exhaust as cool as it sounds is a real pain.

Yup me too. As soon as I switched to copper donuts, the flex pipes started to leak so I just replaced all 4. $$$$$.

Replaced with 4 used from barn of parts. Had problems getting the recently replaced copper donuts back out. Guess you need to coat with anti sieze before you install. Well lesson learned. All back together as of yesterday and rode 130 miles no problems yet.
