Guy's: Here is my question. I just found an 06ER Apex, new for $8395 out the door. I don't know what the new 07 snow check price will be, but I have to believe it will be at least $1500 or so more. I really like the new black with blue flames, but other than that, I see no real upgrades from the 06. Do I go for the 06, or the 07? Are there other improvements in 07 I am not seeing?

An 07 will not be $1,500 more. I paid $9,300 OTD for my 06 Attak. I would say maybe a grand tops. But you get two bigs things for that grand; 3 year Warranty and it's 1 year newer. The minute you take that 06 out it will depreciate at a greater rate than waiting for an 07.
Plus, the 07 looks just plain cool 8)

Depends upon your cash flow, IMO. If you've got the money to burn, wait and get the freshest one, the most up to date and the one you want. If money is an issue, get the 2006. Basically same sled when you're on the seat, right?

Try and find an RTX! The front end is worth the extra few hundred IMO!

There is WAY better deals out there right now..

I saw Apex Gts for sale in norther wisconson brand new for $8500 and standar apex ERs were less than $8000..

I have a friend thinking about buying an apex.. Expecially after riding mine..

Less than $8000 for a new Apex ER- Wow! Makes my local dealers "at cost" $8800 out the door a joke! I think I will go with the 07. I guess I was just disappointed there was really nothing new offered in 07. I was leaning toward the RTX to begin with, but I fell in love with the mono shock I rode this year and am not sure about the Nytro skid. Not real excited about the new RTX color either.

Keep an eye open, if a good deal pops up grab it. Otherwise spring is around the corner and you'll have the summer to look forward to the arrival of your new baby ;)!

Mighty: I noticed you sold your Attack and are talking about the new RTX. Any concerns with the RTX skid? Why are you going back to a shortie?

I want a little lighter sled. No gripes with the Attak, just want to try a shortie again.

You can buy 06 Attaks/Apexs for $6800-$7000 with a few miles on them, in some cases very few. I predict you can snowcheck an 07 for around $8800-8900. I think new 06s have depreciated(at this point in the season) more than what most dealers are willing to discount.

I asked because a friend I ride with is going with an Attack, I with a shortie. He contends the Attack can be thrown around like a shortie. I don't think so, there are always trade offs. Even if handling is close, I still want the shortie. I move around a lot more than him, so the Attack is probably best for him.

RX1, if that's the sled your coming off an Attak will feel like a shortie to you. But I hear where your coming from.

i say go for the 06. Its the same damn sled basically but less money. Depreciation doesn't even play a concern with me because if it did i wouldn't be snowmobiling. they all loss money and the 07 will depreciate the same way at the same rate. I would save the $1000 and buy accessories with any extra. new coat, new gloves, saddle bags etc....

Your missing my point when I refere to deprciation; The 06 is 1 year older than the 07. So right off the bat it will book for that much lower. If he keeps the sled long term no biggie.
As far as saving money goes, that pricing he gave isn't that good. So I don't know where you see the advantage y_guy.
If you are talking about one of the sleds Tork is talking about yes, those are priced really good. Especially redcandy's Attak for $6,800. It's located fairly close to where RX1 lives too.

Take an 06 and save some cash - it's a no-brainer.
