I got this part number off the FAQ's and just ordered today from local dealer, it shows available and I should have it Friday. Hopefully it will end my cold hand woes.

8FP-82318-10-00 retail is $9.86

FYI

What year sled is this for and what year bars do you have on it. I am curious because I have an 06 with 07 bars and was wondering if this would work to increase my warmth.

I have an 06 RTX with stock bars, this is the harness for the 07 bars, it changes the current from series to parallel or something like that. Yours most likely already has thsi harness but yoru grips are not the same and will not perform like the 06, at least thats what I can figure out from all the other FAQ's

Unfortunately I bought the sled with the the 07 update bars already on so i don't have the 06 bars available. I haven't found anyone yet that has descibed how to wire the 07 bars on an 06 to give more heat. I don't really want to start shopping for old 06 bars at this point.

you need the (stock) 06' bars and the wire harness from the 07' upgrade kit to get the better heat as the 07' bars have differnt heat grips as i can tell and like he mentioned it changes the way the current is ran. i just bought the update kit w/ bars for $30. so if you can just get the 5" wire harness for $10.00 i would get it.
rosco if you look at the wire harness on your bars you should see the piece im refering too that hooks the 2 sides of the bars together and then into the sleds harness. thats the piece you need w/ the 06' bars.

I picked up the harness yesterday and it is NOT what you want, its only a single lead that doesn't even have the right ends, after talking with the service manager who is a good friend he was able to come up with a update kit of which I bought for $30, I won't use the bars but the harness that came with the kit plugs right in. I am going to install today and see if my hands finally get hot !

ps. I think he has 1 more kit available.

I just installed updated harness only and HOLY CRAP, do the warmers get hot at idle on level 2, I think I solved a HUGE issue, can't wait!!
LET IT SNOW, LET IT SNOW, LET IT SNOW!!!

warmers

Hi all id like the hole scoop on the handle bar issue plzs what bars to use what harness and a part number of the new harness would also be nice .. i have 07 bars on mine right now with my old 06 bars sitting on my shelf so what do i need guys because my hands freeze big time ...

you need the 06' bars w/ the new 07' wire harness. take off the 07' bars and put bacl on your old 06' bars but use the 4 end plug in that came w/ the 07' updated kit. the old 06' bars each plug end sepratly plugs into the wire harness of the sled. the new harness(its only about 6" long w/ 4 seprate plug ends) plugs both hand warmers ends together and plugs the single wire ends into the sleds wire harness. it basicly changes how the current goes into the warmers making them hotter. but this wont work on the 07' bar grips as they are differnt.

as far as i under stand from reading about this and asking questions, you could only get this from the up dated 07' bar kits. not 100 % sure though. you could make your own wire harness if you cant find one i beleave.
