Is there a way to run newer style bars and HAVE hand warmers(06-08 apex,nytro style) on 05 rx-1..any info?

Yes you can run the newer style bars,but, they might end up being to low because the newer bars are straighter then the bars on a RX1. You can find a used handelbar setup. Their are a few guys on this site that part sleds out.
I do not believe you can. When they went to fuel injection and that robbed energy from the stator and the amp set up on those warmers will burn out your controller. Thats why the hand warmers never got warm on the apex vs the RX

so what to do,,,maybe be a set of renthal bars? or something in that design,,,gotta have the hand warmers,,,,,,,,,,,,
Yes or go through the hastle of putting RX warmers on the 07 bars your going to have to do it anyway on aftermarket bars.
Remember you'll have to add a riser to get the bars back to the same height you have right now. I cannot remember for sure but I think there was a diameter change in the bars from rx to Apex. I used to have 4 or 5 of both types here but I sold all of the rx and apex stuff 2 yrs ago.
The 2nd pic is an 05 with stock bars and 6" riser from attack the 1st is an 03 mountain with an old set of pro taper bars i Believe they were.

I just want to let you know you can run the newer yamaha bars on your rx. I installed apex hooked bars on my warrior. I used a rox 6 inch offset riser. The hand warmers between the the older style and newer style changed the sequence of the wiring . One was wired in parallel the other in sequence i do not remember which was which. Rockmeister went through this about three years ago. I just want you to be aware that there are quite a few things that need to be changed .The grips on the rx are the old hot grips that worked pretty well, the new style are elements that wrap around the bars before the grips go on and they don't get hot enough. Rock has that issue fixed with his yamaheaters. The controls will all work on he new bars, but if you go to high you will need cables from a rx mountain sled. I do believe the 06 apex bars are a different dia. Elton

Fast i used 07 bars on my sled. As for Rockmeister you can google yamaheaters and find his web page. I imaginehis thred is up to 40 pages by now. The yamaheaters for the older sleds are very easy to install Rock is a great guy to work with. IFyou want to go with the newer bars on your sled i would try hibshman25he parts out alot of sleds he might be able to help with apex or newer vector bars. I can't post his website my firewalls are stopping me. If you need anyother info i'm glad to help. Elton
