07 Venture lite rear bogey wheels replacement

I bet it would be easy to make one as it's just a round aluminum rod sized the diameter as the collar the axle bolt slides into and then just tapped with the same threads as the axle bolt so that you just screw this rod onto the threaded part of the axle bolt and pound away but hopefully not as hard as @maim and make a pretzel out of it.

Hmmm, does Tha mean it is removable? Naa. It would make things a lot easier wouldn’t it?
With having the axle removal tool, I have never attempted to loosen that set screw and attempt to remove just the axle bolt and not it and the collar. My bet is that unless you applied some anti-seize earlier on, that bolt is rusted stuck to the collar.

Right, no antiseize, taking no bets against the rust!! thanks for your input.

that sure would come in handy!
i have had one stuck enough that the bolt came out and peeled all the threads. i tapped it for a nc bolt and used red lock tight to put it back in. i keep a new rear axle in stock now as we have bent/worn out a few as it fits everything but a mono shock skid since some time in the early 90's.

There’s a plan! My two end spacers are pretty rough. One much worse… can I buy them in a smaller kit? Ty

take a few pictures with your phone so it is easier to reassemble as i can do it in my sleep by now. the way i do it,

1-back off rear axle nut to top of threads
2-smack on end of shaft on nut with a rubber hammer or a peice of wood and a regular hammer so that shaft moves
3-back off track tension through windows on track
4-remove nut and then tap out shaft. do not loose the washers that go against the inside and outside of the rail
5-keep the spacers in order for easier assembly
6-replace wheels/bearings as needed. a good time to do this mod if it has not already been done. https://totallyamaha.com/snowmobiles/aaTECH/4th_wheel_kit.htm
7-put back together in reverse order of disassembly making sure that the adjusters point the right way and the washer is present on both sides of the rail
8-snug nut enough to hold wheel in place. do not tighten fully as it makes it harder to set track tension
9-set track tension. i like to tighten it so that the centre of the track is almost 1/4"-1/2" off of the sliders.
10-start sled and spin track to check track alignment. adjust to centre it as needed.
11-tighten/torque rear axle nut
12-check that all parts are in place properly by trying to turn the long spacer tube between the rails. when everything is in place properly and tightened, you cannot turn this tube by hand.

i had an oops a few times when i forgot a washer out of place and had to remove the suspension to get the rails repaired from it running loose.
Is there any tip regarding the reassembly to help align eveverything? Track tensioners are backed right out but I can’t seem to get enough slack to get the right wheel back far enough for even the inner wheel to align. Thanks again guys

needs to run track on stand and you adjust the track adj l/s or r/s to get the track to move over to get it centred.
