Will the stock track off my nytro work on the sxr? It's the ripsaw 121x1.25x15, studded. I'd like to throw it in that sled since I'm upgrading to a cobra for the nytro
Thanks

the studs might be a problem

Where do you think the studs will interfere? I don't have the sxr at home right now so I can't really check. Studs are down the center.

X2 on the studs. Might hit the heat exchanger?

My wife and daughter share that same model sled. I would guess some protectors would be the answer.
Another question would be if a person should be putting a 1.25" track on that sled without some clutching? It's not the torque monster of a four stroke or SRX. They came with a .8" or 1" from the factory.
Otherwise, dimension wise, it would fit.
Let us know what you end up doing.

if there are not exchanger protectors on it, you will need to put some on. i do know that my 2000 sx500r did not have any in it because i had no clearance issues when i put a 1-1/4" ripsaw into it but i do not run studs, so i had no issues.
clutching, i threw vmaxjhon's set-up from the tec pages in mine and with a motor alignment i had no problems.

Maim, what things did you see improved with vmaxjhon's setup?
This sled seems to spool up with minimal go. I realize it's a lower hp sled, but quite a bit. I'm not a clutch expert, I may need some professional help with it. Especially if I need clutch tools to take that primary apart.
Thanks!

pulled harder on takeoff and was more agressive in corner to corner accel on the trails. top end stayed the same/slight increase. i would hang with the srx's and sxr's untill i ran out of throttle.
I believe you have to run 8 t drivers with anything longer then a 1.2" stud on the sx chasis.

Thanks!

I believe this is correct. My sxr 700 has 8 tooth drivers, and is running a 1.25" track, studded. But it also has grooves chewed through the tunnel/bulkhead...I'm assuming that happened before the switch to 8 tooth drivers, since the grooves were filled in with silicone. It already had the 8 tooth drivers when I bought it.
I would look for a 1" track.

From what it sounds I should not try this! I'll just leave the stock track on the sxr. I can always sell the ripsaw and put the cash towards the cobra. Thanks guys.
Anyone in need of a studded 1.25 ripsaw with 1000 miles let me know.

1.25" you need to pull the front cooler protectors, I had too when I put a ripsaw on my 01' SXR. 1" with studs will clear the cooler protectors. 1.25" will also rub the tunnel protectors but they wear in pretty quick so I left them.
