Check to see if shock is froze up. Are springs ok? Sled is bottomed out
while sitting there?
Not sure right off what the stock settings are for the XTX. Check your manual. They should be in there. Get a long flat blade screwdriver. Turn both rebound adjuster in (clockwise) till it bottoms. Count clicks as you turn in. Be careful not to turn when it bottoms. Now, with closed back out counting clicks till you get to stock setting. Also check compression setting
same way. Check front shocks as well if you find settings are off in the rear.
Sounds like some dealer prep was neglected at first thought.

Sounds like the oil is gone from the rear shock. Might need some new seals, or your hose may have a hole in it.

BA, I dont believe the XTX has rebound adjustments on the rear shock, just compression.
Is the skid loaded up with Ice, if so try getting it inside a garage with some heat.
These skids will compress without rebounding all the way back up. Is this the problem, or is it completely compressed/bottomed out without any movement up??

If the shock was blown it would bounce up and down like a yoyo. You would feel it. The problem is in the Springs and the current Yamaha valving. Yes, the sag is their, but the shock does work when riding. Mine does the same. It sags sitting there. It's a product of the current spring spacers and shock calibration. Basically it sucks and the Yamaha shock calibration guy/girl should be fired... You want the suspension to work the way it should, re-valve/spring and put in the tortional spring spacers from Hi-tech or a stiffer tortional springs, but I don't believe you need to do that.

Hey i got the same thing rear sled goes down and doesnt come up all the way ..Put the heat to it and still doesnt come back up all the way
Is the skid sitting on a dolley? If you have the back end on a dolley ,it will through the suspention out of whack seems like the suspention is gone completeley.Take the dolly out & see if things return to normal.07AttackGT said:I have an 09 Nytro xtx 500 miles and while it has been in the garage I just noticed when I puch down on rear suspension no rebound wtf! rebound
Mine does the same thing, I know the suspension works though cuz I pound the crap out of it and all that rear suspension does is ask for more. I say don't worry, it isn't a dirt bike.....

I also ran in to the same problem, and took it to my dealer and they said , it does that, until u start it and ride it and then it returns to normal, i thought that is BS, but once i started it and started to ride it , it did return to normal, and no sag, and the rebound was great, so im not sure how that really works, but the mechanic was so right, wierd deal.....
