10 MPG & Blown Belt @ 1200 miles

If you guys look in Diagnostic mode there is a Fuel Pump Ohm reading. I would think with different PSI the Ohm reading should change also since load would change. Might be worth comparing. Simple to check without a pressure test.

No issues like that with mine. How does one get into diagnostic mode to be able to view the ohm reading?

I had about 50 ohms idling in the trailer, not sure if that value changes as RPM changes? Anyone who has seen good gas mileage could you tell me what your sled is reading for fuel pump ohms?

Just checked mine in trailer also. Fuel read 26 ohms and after 20-30 seconds went to 28 ohms. I ran it until it idled down. Stayed at 28 but would flash 27 for instant then back to 28.

Hhmm this is very intriguing information. So now what? I'm guessing at this point I would have to take the sled to the dealer to have pressures checked?

Yes but too late now. I was told that they replaced the whole rail not just pressure regulator, even though one can replace just the regulator on the winders!!

It does act very different upon start up, seems to stumble a bit now for a few seconds then clears right up, as if it was rich. Did not do that before, but never got 15mpg before also. Seems crisper throttle wise on trail though, found myself using less throttle for the speed I wanted compared to before. Had no place to try a real good WOT but it seemed as strong if not stronger then before, could have been new belt diff I guess. They did do more then fuel regulator, they were supposed to set my offset to the max setting of .61 to aid in belt life. I did not check a thing, just happy to ride for 1 more day and get 15mpg. Finally matched my buddies 08 LTX Apex with yamacharger, he had been getting close to 15 mpg every time, always atleast a gallon difference until yesterday!!

I wonder what kind of testing they did to figure out there was too much fuel? And anyone else out there who could chime in with their mpg and ohm reading would be very helpful to compair.

Mine is at the dealer now for year end oil change and a few warranty items I will call them tomorrow and will tell them to check mine and check fuel pressure I only get 10mpg but have a BTX LE 153 so I accept it but I know my dealer will be curious of this issue as well I will have them check ohm readings before and after if they have to change my regulator.

Don't forget about the restricted fitting in return line at tank the link I posted talks of. That would also cause high fuel pressure.

Ok I will let them know

Pulling this thread out of the ding weeds, would like to here what people's mpg was last season and what your fuel pump ohms reading is. I know you all want to go tinker with the gauges on your sleds!

Well started my sled for the first time since I put it away for the off season and my ohms reading for the fuel was 2 at idle which is drastically different from the 50 ohms I saw back in March. Maybe this means that I will get great gas mileage this winter lol
