I use to run a speed ring on my 2 strokes, it was .250 inches thick and it went under the helix, thus same thing as putting washers under it except for the speed ring also had a small groove on the top of it locking the helix in it !!
If you mark the helix before and after you shall note that with the washers or speed ring you are using a bit of helix prior to shifting, so in theory your hole shots may be affected with good traction conditions and with a multiple angle helix etc.etc., and yes you may gain top end if you are using all of your clutch and gearing prior to install.
With that set up I did not get great mileage out of my belts. It may have been a problem with my secondary spring pressure ???

does not effect the hole shot what so ever. for the .25 cents that this cost to try why even waist the time and enrgy talking about it just try it if it works for you fine if not well nothing ventered nothing gained

are you running a stock helix or a aftermarket? do you know if this will work for an aftermarket helix or are theey machined for full shift out? it was my impression they were machined for full shift out when you went aftermarketNEED SNOW said:

Most aftermarket helixs have a deeper cut at the bottom of the ramp for further shiftout than a stock one.Hold two together and you will see that most aftermarket ones are longer from top of ramp to bottom.The CPR kit helix I had was as well as the Bender and Maxx perf ones I have.

119 on the dreammeter is the hightest ive ever seen on my ECP/HH equiped warrior last year...

700SCOTT,,, I dont care if it's a stock helix or not. As soon as I get a new YAMAHA home I put on the lock washers. As I said, I get great hole shots. I have a CPR clutch kit. Jeff at CPR said it was o.k. to leave them in. But I got the [impression] he didn't think it did much. It could be it dont, but it looks like it would...

This works on some sleds, not on others.
My 05 Mono skid had so much drag, I could never get it to shift all the way out. The 05s will not run the MPH that the ProActioon sleds do
I have seen 124 on my speedo with a 1.375x136 Paddle track using Dalton DPYR weights.
On my sled, the stock secondary spring would bottom out before the helix would bottom out.

Bob Miller , When you try your sled for topend put a set of windage plates on the secondary. Seems to make a difference on the vectors. I went from 111mph to 122 on the speedo with this change and the addition of a straight shockwave adjustable helix.
