Well just got back from the TY ride in Houghton..
Did the Demo ride thing... Got to meet Mr sled(tom) and NOSPRO... and a few other people whos names i cant remember because of the DRUNKIN state i was in singing at the bar with them.. LOL (nasty hangover the next day) P.S. PROTC has pics of us singing..
Anyways..
Before i went up there i installed a 13mm swaybar from pioneer performance and removed the lower 10mm transfer rod washers and replaced them with 5mm washers (supposed to reduce decelleration weight transfer) and i aligned my skis so they were only .50 out! and loosened the front springs by 4 turns each side!
The end result.. AN EXTREMELY FLAT HANDLING RX WARRIOR!! WOW!!
After adding the bar.. and doing the washer trick.. I got rid of ALL of the UNEASY body roll that i had before.. and at no expense to ride.. In fact i think it rode even better with the new swaybar... ( i always got an uneasy feeling before going into turns, as the sled felt like it would roll or flip over.. NOT ANYMORE!!
WIth the setup im using i have alot of ski pressure but at higher speeds the skis BITES like mad.. I had actually let out the limiter straps so that there was about 1/2inch of thread left on bolts and adjusted the transfer rods to the minimum transfer setting!
The Key to driving this sled is this.. setup the suspension for lots of ski pressure... then while riding DO NOT COMPLETELY let off the gas when entering a corner.. instead let of the gas about half way... Slide your butt to the inside of the turn..PLANTING THE INSIDE SKI and slowly acellerate threw the corner just lifting the skis off the ground enough to make them easier to turn...
My buddy (PROTC)on his new 05 Firecat SP rode my sled before and after the mods ive done and He even remarked How well it cornered..
I knew if i spent enough time on tuning this sled id get it to handle like i wanted!! It still has too much track on the ground and is too heavy to handle exactly like a viper but i tell ya what.. IT HANDLES DAM CLOSE!! and rides 10 TIMES BETTER!!
Im running C@A pro skis with 8 inch carbides and i think now with the new swaybar i could even go down to maybe 6 inchers to make it steer a little easier at slower speeds.. but im not complaining.. I really dont think i could make it handle any better.. I never thought i would get rid of the nasty roll in the corners... I actually have alot of confidence when railing threw the corners now..
IF YOU DONT LIKE HOW YOUR WARRIOR RIDES THE WAY IT IS, GET A 13MM SWAYBAR, ITS WAY WORTH ITS WEIGHT IN GOLD for a MEASILY $89!
Id really like to see someone with a standard rx use the 13mm sway bar and give there experience of it as i think it could really help..
I hope this helps guys..
Brian

I put the 13mm on my 03 and it helped a lot but i had stock ski's. Been considering taking it off and swapping with my 05 the simmons are great but i still get a little ski lift going into corners fast I'll try it right after xmas and let you know

Great info Brian,
I know how much you dig railing throught the corners. Putting in that roll stiffnes and a small tweak in the weight transfer can do wonders. This is great info and it sure would be nice to have it in a sticky somewhere.
Lots of threads right now on ski lift. I hope everybody sees this.

I second that thought. I however DO have Simmons skis and wonder wether or not I even need the 13mm. I think the 12 would be fine. Anyone try this setup?? BUT I have NO ski lift at all. I just want to rail the corners even more.DaveyBoy said:I have a 03 Rx-1 should i go to a 13mm or a 12mm I already have the longer links.I have some aweful ski lift in the corners

I felt no loss of ride with the bar... Infact i feel that it rides better (ya dont get crossed up when hitting bumps)
I would go 13mm on all rx sleds!

what is the size of the stock bar? I ride a 04 warrior and just put on the Ohlins front shocks. No snow yet so i dont know how much improvement.
what are most of you non-studded guys running for carbides?

STock bar is 11mm... There is optional 12mm and 13mm swaybars but i feel there is no need to waste any time.... Go strait to the 13mmyamawarrior said:what is the size of the stock bar? I ride a 04 warrior and just put on the Ohlins front shocks. No snow yet so i dont know how much improvement.

How involved is teh swap, does it effec the ski alingment? Would i need to change the skis the realize the improvement?

Is this concept the same... going to a 13mm bar and longer links on an 03 with C&A ultra skis or does ski not matter?

Doesnt the 04 already have the longer links?

The 04 has the longer links and an 11mm swaybar the 03 came stock with shorter links and a 10mm sway bar after reading this I'm gonna take the 13mm off my 03 and put it on my 05

You're going to get pounded if you ride off the trail, or if you get into an area with small uneven (from side to side) bumps.

I guess you missed the part where i said i felt no Difference in ride quality!
I had my sled on one VERY NASTY trail.... Basically all studder bumps and mougals... It rode every bit as good as before if not better... The warrior is just to heavy for that flimsy 11 bar..
Were talking trail sleds not mountain sled here.... If you ride the mountains ive heard the best thing to do is to remove the bar completely!
Im just passing on the info that ive learned... Anyone who knows me, Knows that i came from a viper to be dissapointed in the stock warriors handling and have been trying to make it handle like my viper did... They said it couldnt be done... but i tell ya,ive come DAM CLOSE!!
