136 Mono Cracked Rails

Ah, so you added a cross shaft. I guess I wasn't thinking the cracks were caused by side stress on the rails, but it does make sense. I do also see that the right side of the track was trimmed off. I would have no idea what did it except the trimmed rubber was inside the rear skid bracket. One of the holes used to lighten the rear bracket trimmed it right off. Obviously the track run to that real bad at one point. I am guessing that there is more flexing in the skid then should be. I will tear it down and inspect closely, but for now here are a few pics. One of the trimmed rubber that I pulled out of the rear bracket, another of the track, and the other of the hole in the rear bracket that shaved the track.

Getting old sucks . . .

I remember what trimmed the track now. One of the bearings on the idler shaft (behind the rear mount) let go and destroyed the wheel. This allowed the track to rub the bracket. Soon as I looked closely at the pic of the bracket, I remembered

What about your powder coating, would it all need to be removed?

These are rails that you powder coated a couple years back.
